So I was getting my car inspected and while they were doing it, I was standing nearby on the phone. Unfortunately, the BlueTooth kept picking up my call so the technician turned off my audio.
Something happened so that now my phone/audio system is frozen. The bottom screen is stuck on the "dialing" screen & the top screen says "audio off". I have turned off my phone & restarted my car several times but nothing fixes it. All other functions, like navi, work fine.
I went to the dealership who could not immediately fix it and said that they will have to hook it up to a computer which is very time consuming, so I will have to bring it back.
Does anyone happen to know a way to fix this? Perhaps reboot the system?
I had a hunch that disconnecting the battery would reboot the whole system so I took it to another dealership (my usual 1 which has been fantastic over the years) and it worked - my RLX is back to normal.
On a side note: both dealerships have been recently renovated and they look much better and more inline with what a luxury brand should look like. Looks like Honda may finally be taking Acura seriously.
Sounds like you might be near me in NC where the two dealerships have updated their footprint. Glad you were able to get things in working order again.
Spoke too soon. Now my BlueTooth is acting all wonky. The phone connects fine but when I try to place a call, I can see the phone doing it but the RLX screen does not change and keeps playing music. When I hang up the phone call (from the phone) then the music shuts off and tries to place the call. Weird.
I went in to try to delete the device but the option is grayed out. I then unpaired the Acura HomeLink from my phone but when I try to reconnect, adding a device is grayed out. My phone sees the RLX and asks me to pair but when I try, it does nothing for a minute and then asks me to pair it again. This goes for an endless cycle.
I had this happen before. Delete the Bluetooth connection from both the phone and the car, then turn off the car as well as the phone. Wait a minute to restart both, and then re-pair the car/phone together again as if it is a fresh start for each of them. That should clear it up, or at least it did for me.
Unfortunately, I cannot delete the device from the RLX. The option is grayed out. I did unpair it from the phone & tried to repair it from the phone but no luck. I am going to swing by the dealer tonight if I have time and see what they can do ....
Had an appointment over the weekend to have this addressed. Once again, they disconnected the battery and so far this time, it has been a permanent fix.
I did learn that when the system boots up again & asks you to enter the security code, as long as the car has not moved, all you have to do is hold in the power button to bypass that step.
Hope this helps in case someone else runs into this BlueTooth/Infotainment issue.
Thank you for this! both my screens and gauge cluster screen went black and won't return to normal. I'm going to try removing the fuse first, then the battery.
Had an oil change over the weekend and now the bottom screen is stuck on "dialing". So irritating as now the stereo will not even play anything bc it thinks I am making a call.
Will have to try disconnect the battery later when I have time. Wish there were cars on the lots for sale as I do feel like it is time for a new automobile.
