I have S-VCM. No problems in 4 years of use. Car drives a lot smoother. Loss of about 2-4 mpg on average for me though. I say disabling the VCM is worth it.

thank you. Is there a certain one that you would recommend? Meaning is there more than one brand? I was looking for a YouTube video on how to install it on a RLX but I could not find one.

Yeah. S-VCM is the brand I used. You basically unplug one of the coolant sensors and plug S-VCM in between the sensor and the connector. Then you hook up the eyelet to the positive terminal of the battery. You also install the provided 2-amp fuse if I remember correctly.
