Technically, idle on/off is really not needed then... press SPORT mode each time you start the car, enjoy the ride and you are set

That's right! Previous owner should have kept the car and use Sport button instead

I tried that with the wife's SH RLX a couple of times. And while it does add to the fun factor, it's not that pleasant to drive in normal (including stop-and-go) driving. The shift points are pretty aggressive, and the MPG's drop a LOT. And in winter driving, it's gets pretty 'happy' when driving in slippery conditions :-)

I drive the MDX SH in Sport mode exclusively. Wife likes in Normal mode. I don't notice a huge difference in MPG. She'll average 26-27MPG. I'll get maybe 0.5-1MPG less, but I rarely drive her SUV. In Normal mode the shifts a little too lazy for my taste. I prefer the quicker shift points. This 7DCT is incredibly quick in the RLX. Seems much quicker than in the MDX. Did they tuned it differently?

It seems like the RLX hybrid is tuned for more EV and performance in normal mode compared to the MDX Hybrid in Sport mode. In the RLX, I see EV mode in reverse and engages longer/sooner compared to the MDX hybrid system. I haven't compared tq distribution graphics to see if one system is working any harder than the other for regen braking or tq vectoring. I don't think Acura programmed the MDX hybrid system to work as much as the RLX system (shows in 2-4 mpg less for my MDX for the same city driving routes).

I would not be concerned about MPGs - I currently get 20mpg avg on my RL, so if I get higher mpg than that, I am golden

In the case someone is in the area or willing to fly out and snatch this deal (ext and int color is brown, may need a specific taste to grab it) there is a 2020 RLX Sport Hybrid with 10k miles, certified for 42.7k + TTL
2020 RLX Sport Hybrid, 10k miles, 42k USD, certified
By far this is the best deal on 2020 RLX I have seen in the last 2 months...

Another great deal for 45k and 3k miles is:
2020 RLX Sport Hybrid, 3k miles, 45k USD, certified

I wish Acura would offer Gilded Pewter Metallic with Seacost interior with Black headliner and Black steering wheel. That white steering wheel would get dirty real fast. I hate White cars as I had really bad luck with them in the past. Crashed and totaled both my White Integras. But seeing how limited these cars are and being discontinued, I had no choice but to pickup my White RLX. Hope I don't totaled this one too. I guess I could always wrapped the car LOL.
