I just paid the stealership to flush/fill the trans and I would like to know how it's done so I can do it myself (rather than pay for 300+).
They mentioned a drain and fill plug. Those are easy enough to find. My question is, do I drain it and fill it with the exact amount removed, or do I fill it until it comes out the fill hole (like a differential)? How do I know when its full as there is no dipstick...?
I know most are going to say don't risk it, but I want to find out how difficult it is.
Is your dealership doing a 1X or 3X drain/fill? It was $189.95+tax to do the 7DCT 1X drain/fill for my 18 RLX SH and 19 SH at my dealership. That was a lot cheaper compared to my previous 5AT/6AT Acura at around +$425 for 3X drain/fill.

My Dealer (Thomas Acura) in Covina, CA charged me $149.98 for Transmission drain & fill. and $139.88 for Rear Diff replacement. Your dealer charging $300+ is indeed a ripoff.

yeah I’m not too happy with them.
that’s why I’m hoping someone can tell me what Acura actually does. do they drain it all then fill to the fill plug or do they have some other method?

Anyone have any insights?

All you need to do is drain and fill.....this "flush" myth is just that. It is not needed for proper maintenance.
Drain and then fill at the fill port until fluid seeps out, and you're done!! Every 30K miles. Easy Peasy!!
