My 2014 RLX SH TPMS light came on and I am betting the batteries are dying out on the TPMS system—it’s been 10 years.

Are these universally interchangeable or do I need the official Honda/Acura replacement parts to keep the TPMS system working properly after install?

Discount Tire, and I suspect other tire dealers, can replace those on your next visit.....many times at no cost.

 

I added a full size spare to my 19 MDX with TPMS. I wanted to start doing a 5 tire rotations to extend tire life, ready to go replacement for non repairable flat, and always have a full size spare at the right tread depth because of sh-awd. Discount Tire added the TPMS and I had all kinds of errors:
- blank Discount TPMS reading
- TPMS warning/error in the M.I.D.
- blank on all 4 sensors
- sometimes it would read perfectly 10%-20% or the time; but, back to above errors on next start up.

Ordered an Acura TPMS sensor and replaced the Discount Tire TPMS. Zero issues for over a year with OEM TPMS with doing 5 tire rotation.
