The iPhone has never been fully compatible. I think they note this on the HFL comparability chart. It seems like they all read, but cannot reply. I'd suggest using Siri and the [home] button to read and reply.

I haven't been able to get it to work at all with the iPhone 7 and iOS 8.1.

:-(

Next version of iOS, I'll give it a try again.

Where did you get an iPhone 7? Apple will need to start supporting the Message Access Protocol (MAP) for this feature to work. They've ignored this feature for 3-4 years so it seems unlikely we'll see it in the future. Maybe the RLX will get SiriEyesFree one day?

The funny thing is that the iPhone 5S with iOS 7.*.* worked just fine. I can't imagine what's changed.

SIRI Eyes Free is in the TLX, so I think there's hope for the 2016 MY.

In the mean time, Hey SIRI might help most of us with some things.

George didn't look at his keyboard and even at his old age has never 100% mastered the numbers keys.

Yeah, I seem to recall discussing this before. However, I've never got an iphone to send a message through the car system. They all read just fine, but sending doesn't work (for me). I wish I could try it again after reading this but I'm now on iOS 8.1 too.

Sorry I wasn't more clear, I know that Siri is in the TLX but I was hoping that SiriEyesFree will find it's way to other cars like the RLX as an update as it did with the 2013-14 ILX and RDX (curiously, not for the '15...yet).
