I test drove a Sport Hybrid yesterday and noticed in manual sport mode it will stay in 2nd gear until I manually shift it. In my PWS it will shift for me. It won't stay in 2nd gear like the sport hybrid. Even the 2.4L TLX in sport manual will stay in 2nd gear and will shift to 3rd gear only after shifting with tbr paddles. Is this a nomral on the PWS?

 

My memory is a little foggy, but I do remember for certain that my 14' PAWS Advanced would shift out of 1st gear when in manual sport mode, but I want to say it would stay within any of the other gears (2nd-6th) until you shifted with a paddle no matter how high the engine would rev.

There were a few updates to the ECU and transmission software on the 14's that I recall being done during several maintenance visits back when I still had mine. My suggestion would be to ask your service advisor to check to make sure your car has the latest engine & transmission software updates the next time it's in for service.
