Radar Detector and Battery

So I want to hardwire my radar detector but will all the battery issues people are having in their RLX's I am a little tepid in doing so. Has anyone hardwired their radar detector and have had no issues with the battery dying? Thanks in advance for all the replies/help!

I have a Valentine One detector hard-wired in my '16 Sport Hybrid -- no issues with battery drainage or other electrical issues (knock on wood). It has certainly saved my tail a few times on some road trips....

Just be sure that the shop is well qualified. I had mine installed by a guy at an Acura dealership, and he failed to reseat the entire dashboard correctly. I had to have a different dealer mount it properly.

I have a K40 with front and rear sensors hardwired into my '14 Sport Hybrid and have had no battery issues in the 3 ½ years since. In fact, I am actually still on my original battery. BTW, my K40 warning lights are built into the dash below the instruments, and the on/off switch is in the unused spot in the left hand push-button panel

UPDATE: Got my Uniden R3 installed. Took my buddy literally 5 minutes to hardwire it. It's sitting on the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel right next to the A-pillar and works flawlessly. Thank you to all that helped me out and alleviated my fears!
