OEM knock sensor or 3rd party? Any difference?
OEM knock sensor or 3rd party? Any difference?
So, I started getting one of those "Emissions system problem!" and "Electronic emergency brake problem!" warnings a couple of weeks ago. My OBD scanner says it is a knock sensor code. An OEM knock sensor costs about $150 and a third-party knock sensor costs about $50. Does anybody have any experience with using a non-OEM knock sensor, good or bad?
That is why I asked, though there appears to be two, one for each bank. If you want to receive the same or longer life of about 7 years, you'll want to invest in OEM knock sensor(s); otherwise, settling for a cheap foreign knock-off, for your expensive / reliable RLX, might have you paying to repeat the repair sooner then you'd like, IMHO of course.

#12 below is the knock sensor and gives you an idea of where it lives.
Good Luck!
