My company uses Webex for meetings. I call into some from my RLX. I have to be on mute most of the time because everyone says the background noise is very loud. However, every other call to individual phones say there is no background noise and it is very quiet.
Reason??
On a side note, I just noticed today that increasing the volume using the steering wheel control shows on the MID, but using the physical volume knob does not. One of those quirky UI things

The only totally quiet hands free calls that I experience are all on HD Voice.
I think that HD Voice requires that everyone is on AT&T and iPhones.
Otherwise, I think that maybe other hands free microphones just pick up too much ambient or have a housing harmonic issue.

Verizon has HD and that's what I have.
But I can call other people who do not have HD and they say it is quiet. I've only been told it is loud when I call into Webex con calls and they say it is very loud
