For long time owners...how is KRELL audio?
Ok, i am looking at picking up a 2019 RLX Hybrid with KRELL. Sound is VERY important to me...i spend 2 hours each day on the road. The dealer is far from me. I have MDX with ELS. For me, the MDX ELS is OK...a bit lacking in bass, but what bothers me is the harsh highs on certain songs. I understand that this is due to metallic tweeters but it gets harsh at times and no amount of “TREBLE” adjustment can control it adequately without causing the rest of the frequency to sound bad.
The KRELL has magnesium tweeters. How do you guys like it? How’s the bass? Mid-range?
Lastly, where are the 14 speakers?
My count: 1 center, 2 front tweeters, 2 front door woofers, 2 rear door tweeter, 2 rear door woofers, 2 woofers on back shift, and 1 subwoofer = 12.
Where are the 2 missing speakers? Does the rear shift woofers have integrated tweeters in them?
Thanks in advance!

I have a 2015 Sport Hybrid with the Krell and I love it - best system I’ve ever had in a car and superior to the ELS system I enjoyed previously in my 2012 TL SH-AWD.
It has excellent bass and such a crisp full sound. I’m not an audiophile by any stretch but I know what sounds good - and the Krell is a phenomenal system IMO.

The Krell is clean and still excellent. I added a Sundown SA 8 as no stock system will ever have enough bass. Although, the Burmester in the Panamera comes close. Never liked the sound of ELS. My RL had Bose which sounded ok, but the front speakers blew and had to be replaced.
I too have a long commute at 1.5 hours and can confirm the RLX makes a great commuter car.

As others have mentioned, the Krell sound system in the RLX provides outstanding clarity of the notes and vocals and wonderful definition of the instruments. The bass is perfectly suited to the music BUT won't give you "booming" bass if that is important to you.
As a daily driver, the RLX is close to ideal...providing a smooth, quiet ride in comfort and safety while also being equipped with a surprising "Sporty side" if you "feel the need" to let off some steam and have some fun.
Just my two cents Good luck with your purchase decision.

In my experience, the Krell Audio system is usually better than the data you can send it.
For example, if you are streaming Amazon or Pandora, you know that the system is capable of more, but you're not getting it from the stream. It's great, but you know the system is capable of more and is limited by either the LTE stream or the Bluetooth stream.
If you're playing iPod HQ audio, or something similar, or maybe FM HD, you'll be amazed so long as you really are getting the high quality signal.
Satellite probably sounds better than it would sound on another Honda/Acura system, but even with the decompression you can still tell its satellite.
You can tune Krell to be especially good with the human voice and with classical music.
If you're after window rattling bass and artists who can't carry it without an Auto-Tune, the Krell system is a waste of money.

It's great, no complaints other than bass although, there is not one oem system with enough bass. I added a sundown sa8 and it is sufficient. Now the rear deck is rattling...
