Brought the 2016 RLX Hybrid in for an alignment due to increased tire wear on the driver rear inside edge. The tech said there is no camber adjustment for the rear wheels and said maybe the upper control arm is bent. Confirmed in the service manual for camber adjustment it just says to inspect for damage to suspension components without any info on adjusting camber. Any tips on adjustment?
Nothing off the shelf for the RLX. My 14’ is just barely out of spec for both of the rear tires. However, I think either the 4G TL or 1G TLX adjustable arms might fit. Godspeed project makes them. part no is AK-138C. However, I haven’t bought them to try. The rear suspensions are very similar between the 3 cars. You might also want to replace the rear springs if they are old.
He can also loosen the subframe bolts and move the subframe to the right to balance the camber a little bit. However, I wouldn’t do this unless the adjustable control arms won’t fit.
The mechanic fixing my tire once noticed that they were unevenly worn and advised me to check the suspension. Sure enough, there was quite a bit that I had to replace on my previous car, a 2006 Acura RL.
