Lots of things the car are still ...counter-intuitive to me, hopefully, they can grow into me in near future.
Hey welcome. You're from ClubLexus right? Did you get rid of your GS F Sport? I traded in my GS350 last Oct to move into a RLX-SH. So much happier. This is the RLX forum. You're welcome to post here but you will probably get more responses in TLX forum. Acura infotainment is absolutely trash, IMO but easily fixed with GROM.

I went for a drive yesterday (~100 miles, but after 60 miles I Picd what the avg was on 60 miles...) ... Drove 35-55mph range with just few traffic lights and got this mpg with just normal driving, no sudden acceleration, speeding, etc.

Crazy for a car of this curb weight, comfortability, etc... Ok, it is a hybrid, but still - pretty nice 🤪

I wish the RLX hybrid fuel tank was just a little larger in the +18 gal range. Only having 15 gal can kinda push the limits out west between cities (with a Sams or Costco gas stops anyways).

Tiny fuel tank and luggage area is a big problem. Family asked me to drive them and their luggage (family of 4) to airport. That was a hard NO from me. I couldn't fit all their luggage in the RLX tiny trunk. Shame really. I wanted them to experience the RLX-SH awesomeness. They think their Model 3 is the greatest. It's nothing compared to the power and quietness of the Acura.

It is nice to have the choice of driving conservatively and getting 36 mpg or choosing sport mode and driving aggressively while getting 23 mpg. So many competitors get the same 23mpg even with conservative driving. All of that said, sport mode sure is a lot of fun even is such a big car.

Hey Everybody

Good day everyone, just dropping in as I haven't been on here in a really long time. Last was around 2010, been a honda and acura fanatic for a long time. Started with the family, we've owned 82 coupe, 88 hatch, 91 sedan, 96 coupe, 97 sedan, 99 coupe, 03 coupe, 04 sedan, Honda Accords. All of which have been kept until death or being salvaged. Followed by 86 and 2000 prelude. Had a buddy who bought a 2008 TL type-S and I really enjoyed the car, that experience led me to buy one myself. I own an 08 type s auto since 2010, and unfortunately I have only used it as a weekend car. My car has 85,000 miles on it which is pretty crazy for a 13+ year old car, when I purchased it used it only had 15,000 miles.

It is officially my first car that I paid for myself, so honestly I plan on keeping it forever, and currently debating if I want to get the newest TLX Type S.

Right now my cars are the 2004 Accord, 08 TL type S, 2018 Honda Clarity, and 2018 BMW 740i M-pac. Too many cars.

Thanks for reading.

I've done the posted in the wrong forum thing several times.

I would check out the RLX Hybrid along side the TLX Type-S. You can probably get a RLX hybrid +/- $20,000 less depending on year/mileage, 377hp/341tq, same 0-60 times, +29 mpgs always, HUD, extremely smooth 7DCT, regen braking+true TQ vectoring, and soooo much more space in the extremely quiet cabin. The TLX Type-S will be around for while and you have 5-6 years to get one new. The RLX is an end of an era and I don't think we will see this car again with the hybrid powertrain in North America.

Totally agree on the RLX hybrid. I came from a TLX and it was a forgettable car. My wife saw a photo of it and said she didn’t remember me having a TLX.

The hybrid power train is unique to this car and the much more expensive NSX. The torque is something else, that’s for sure.

Techwise, it is outdated. However, no matter the current vehicle interior tech, it will be outdated tomorrow, anyway.

GROM VLine2 fixed the outdated infotainment for me. I absolutely love this car now. Drive it every chance I get.

Just wanted to say I took a roundabout the other day and watched the HUD display the torque vectoring outer wheel. It was satisfying to have that visual while actually experiencing it. A shame Acura doesn’t realize this small detail enough to implement it across their lineup.

did you take on that roundabout for few loops? It'll bring out the spirited child side of you and put that rear outer wheel to work

if i was the only one on that road I would have! I have gone up and down exit/entrance cloverleaf ramps without braking and it’s pretty thrilling. the tires make noises.

After my 2019 TLX lease ended, I ended up getting an used M550i late last year. But if I could have found a Sport-Hybrid somewhat close and not overpriced, I would have got it. I was not happy they chose to discontinue the car (isn't electric and hybrid the new focus??? ). Instead of putting more focus into making it better, they make the TLX bigger (external for sure), heavier and under-powered lol

That’s Acura leadership for ya. The RLX SH is the better performer but they wanted money for it. Money that they could not command because the competition offered better compromises, whether it was design, performance, entertainment, prestige, etc. and/or a combination of all those tangible items. so they made a cash grab decision to focus on the cheaper TLX and look where it got them. The type S gets outgunned by pretty much every performance competitor.

It feels like Acura is only competing against itself or other Honda products? Acura acts like every potential TLX owner was a loyal civic or accord looking to upgrade. Same for every MDX/RDX owner was a previous CR-V or Pilot/Passport owner looking to upgrade. I'm willing to bet the Integra Type-S will have less performance compared to the the regular sh-awd TLX 2.0T when it comes out.

I have been a Acura owner now since 2018. Just bought a brand new 2023 TLX Type-S Performance Tire 10 Speed Automatic in Apex Blue Pearl!

Love the color combo! I wish Acura would add the TLX Adv package to the Type-S like they did for the MDX Type-S.

Congrats! Very sharp! Looks like Radley Acura in Falls Church. My 2006 RL CMBS came from Radley in Woodbridge.

Would be curious to hear how you enjoy the TLX over time. Best Wishes and ENJOY!

Thank you! Yes you are correct! This was the Radley in Falls Church! This is my third TLX now but my first two I got from the Pohanka Acura in Chantilly!

So far I absolutely love TLX Type-S! The only thing that is a little annoying to get use to about it is the gas mileage and how the transmission shifts in Sport + mode. Just wish it had a fully manual mode to control the 10 speed but its wonderful.

How has your experience been Radley so far?

congratulations firstly on the TLX Type-S that Apex Blue is stunning!! I live in the DMV area and have bought all of my Acuras out in VA. I actually bought my first Acura from Radley in Falls Church back in 2020. My experience was very great however my last 2 Acuras have been purchased from Pohanka! Was gonna get my 23’ TLX Type-S from Radley but they didn’t have the color I wanted and when they did get it Pohanka Acura made me a great deal on my Type-S so I bought there instead.

gas mileage will get better as you break the car in more from what I’ve noticed in my 4 months of ownership. Car is a blast to drive and daily

Edit: PMC Type-S models do NOT have the Adv package lol just custom paint and accessories installed from factory

I have not used Radley for service. I used Pohanka for almost 20 years for service. Liked the service very much. My Pohanka tech left about 2 years ago and went to My Dads Auto in Chantilly. My Dads in Chantilly has been awesome so I have them service all of my cars

I was not happy with the sales process at Pohanka with the RL I purchased from them. My current 2020RLX I purchased new at Rallye Acura in Long Island NY. I love them for sales and we have purchased other Acura’s from the same salesperson at Rallye. Plus their pricing is always very aggressive and they make the buying experience simple and a pleasure. Rallye assigns you a tech guru at delivery to set up your phone and review all of the features.
