Automatic headlight operation
I've never particularly like auto headlights, and on cars that have had it I've always operated the lights manually.
Now comes the RLX, which defaults to Auto. In broad daylight, when I start the car in my garage, the headlights come on and the displays (including the backup camera display) DIM. Add to that the sunglasses I have on, and it's hard to see the backup camera display while I'm backing out. That's not good.
I've checked and find no way to disable the Auto headlight feature ... am I missing something? The Off position on the stalk is locked out via a spring-loaded switch, and the owner's manual seems to suggest you can't use the Off position unless the car is in P or the parking brake is engaged, anyway.
If someone knows a setting that will allow me to manually control the headlights, I'd appreciate your pointing me to it.

Three Wheelin'
another solution is to just adjust the brightness of the backup camera view. when it is engaged (transmission in Reverse) there is a separate adjustment setting on the screen that is independent from the overall console brightness adjustment. you adjust it by simply turning the data entry wheel.
or just wait to put your sunglasses on after you backup

Yeah, I know I can just wait to put on the sunglasses. I'm actually trying to find a way to defeat the Auto headlights, and the backup camera issue is just a negative side effect of it.
As far as that goes, I can also press the little Day/Night button to bring the backup camera screen back to normal. It just seems like and unnecessary step.
