2021 A-SPEC *winter mode* - 235/60/18

... ENKEI gloss black 18s paired with XICE xi2. i'm kinda glad that this particular style of 18s dont make it look like they're so tiny. goes well with the A-SPEC. TPMS paired up within 5mins of driving around.

Just curious why you went with 18” rather than the 20” that is standard on our A-Spec? I live in Arizona and stay away from the mountains during the winter so remember nothing about snow driving I did in Wisconsin as a teen. Thanks.

20" winter tires are gonna be expensive.

here in the westcoast when it really hits, we get potholes...potholes will kill the lower profile 20" tires as well as potential damage on larger wheels.

much rather keep a dedicated set for our northwest winters. 18s also cushion up the ride a bit more during the winter months .

I totally understand. That’s why I am running a couple sizes larger than stock on my 20’s….We have potholes galore in the old roads around Arizona after it rains. I lowered mine too, so to fill the wheel well I would either have to go with 21” or 22” with a low-profile tire…..nope, not gonna happen. We just got back from a 5,000 mile road trip and my car was an absolute delight to drive and enjoy the amenities of a great interior. This car is a keeper, for sure. I just went over 48,000 miles…just getting broken in.

Just put on my Winter set - Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV 235/55/19 on stock wheels.

The stockers may not be pretty but, I got them for $600 including TPMS, center caps, and shipping. Ugly can save you money 😁

Hey Acura604 - how did you find the tires on your A-Spec? I have the exact same MY and have been looking to get the same size tires but keep seeing mixed info that the smallest I can go is 19". I'd really rather do the 18s and save myself some money and they seem to look perfect on the car per your pics. Would love any additional info you have on fitment etc. before I drop $1600 on the tires and wheels. Thanks!

18s are quite fine and look great - but as with any smaller wheel, be sure it clears calipers. quite happy with the 18s...its only for 5months of the year in any case...and the tread life is long.

Awesome, thanks for the reply! Even despite your review and pictures I had reached out to my local dealer as well who (eventually) got back to me and doubly confirmed that the tires and rims should fit just fine. I hadn't downsized 2" before so was a little hesitant before spending the money, but now this saves me a good few hundred bucks (and tread as mentioned) so I can't complain! Thanks again.

For soft snow and slush , you want a skinnier tire to make it easier for the tread to reach the road. For deep fresh snow it doesn’t matter, since it is the friction between the packed snow in the tread that is doing the job... But for sheet ice wider is better ( more sipes gripping). Generally going down 1 or 2” in diameter usually works best, I installed 235/55R19 tires on my PMC. My truck runs studded Hakkas.

BTW there is a dedicated Tires section here. Did you know that?

I'm planning to go with 18s for winter mode on the RDX. What should the wheel offset be?

My winter mode setup. 20 x 8.5 Replika R241 wheels with Pirelli Scorpions providing the grip.
