2020RDX mismatched tire

My 2020 RDX awd aspec got a nail in one of the rear tires- can’t be patched. Rest of the tires have atleast 10k left in them. The shop put a used tire on as a replacement - it has very similar wear and the same size. The original 3 are Goodyear eagle RS-A and the replacement is a Goodyear eagle sport. The pattern is slightly different between these 2 models. Is this likely to cause any damage to the differential or drivetrain?

It is recommended to keep tires on the same axel at the same tread depth with shawd. It would be preferred if both tires across from each other were replaced with the same type and tread depth.

You probably won’t see/feel/hear anything different in normal driving situations with one mix matched tire. The concern I would have is with extreme weather traction, hard braking, and/or high tq vectoring driving. I wouldn’t feel comfortable replacing a worn tire with another worn tire of a different type. I would either purchase four new or two new (keep the 2 new together on same axel with rotations).

I wish Acura provided more guidance regarding tire replacements. Subaru was good and providing specifics in their manual for the over 10 years I've driven them.. I had to go through this on my 2021 RDX. I ended up buying a pair of the OEM ones and had them mounted on the front. I'm guessing with you saying you think you have at least 10k left in the tires, you must have around 30k on them at least. I wouldn't risk just one. It might be a different story if you were maybe with 5k to maybe 10k on the tires. You don't want to run the risk of damaging the AWD running one tire that is mismatched in size and type continuously.
