No Air Coming From Vents
No Air Coming From Vents
I own a 2019 RDX Tech and about 3 months ago the air conditioning would sputter ever so slightly when I would have it on high while driving. This would get progressively worse. As the weeks went by, the air would only barely come out about half power even though I showed full power on the dash. When I would power down to the 1 hash mark and then back to full, it would not go back to blowing hard out of the vents. Now about 3 weeks ago, the air would quit completely coming out of the vents. I did every combination of buttons: circulate/recirculate, auto, sync, ac on/off, etc. Nothing worked. No air would blow out of the vents until I got on the freeway about 20 minutes after I could not get any air and boom the air came out full blast. Since then it has gone back down to sputtering with only half power coming out. I have no clue what it could be. My dealer wants $326 to check it out. I could not find anyone else with this problem in the 3G RDX so if anyone has any ideas I would much appreciate some help. Thank you!
I would suggest bringing it to the dealership, because it looks like an electronics issue to me. There is a AC test menu under the dealership diagnosis menu in the infotainment system. I never touch it, but there might be some things you can play with and hopefully find further clues.
