Heated Steering Wheel does not stay warm

I have an A-Spec and added the Heated Steering Wheel option. It heats up immediately, but seems to cycle from heating and cooling down. The heat is never consistent after the first minute of heat. It was 20 degrees the other day and when I turned on the heated steering wheel, the heat was immediate, but the wheel cooled off even before the car was up to temp. I find myself constantly moving my hands searching for the next heated spot. Is this normal for Acura's? None of our other vehicles with heated steering wheels cool down until the wheel is turned off. The dealer told me it is normal and works like the rear window defroster. Not sure why I paid $600 for a heated steering wheel that is only heated some of the time.

My navigation also does not take addresses, verbally or physically entered. The tech sat with us in an A-Spec the dealer had on the lot and it's navigation did the same exact thing. So I was basically told that this is normal...normal....are they kidding...what is the point of navigation if is does not navigate?

Thanks for any help or suggestions with this!

Nope. Mine is a 2019 ASpec I added it to, but works great.

Not normal on either count in my experience. I have a 2020 Tech on which I added a heated steering wheel. It stays warm and I usually end up turning it off manually.

Verbal inputs for navigation also work fine.

EFR- When you add a heated steering wheel to the ASpec, is it the same style wheel or is it the advanced wheel? If I understand correctly, the ASpec wheel has a different leather pattern and stitching. I assume the paddle shifters are separate from the wheel and don't get changed? Thanks!

So sorry, I actually never checked or took notice. Unfortunately, Acura could not fix the bugs out of my info system and we had to dump a year old car! I loved it, but the emergency braking warning would come on when it shouldn't, maps didn't work and apple car play stopped working. They would reset the system only for it to go glitchy again. Hope you have better luck with yours.

I have the ASpec and I added the heated steering wheel. It is the ASpec style wheel with the heating element added. I believe they reuse the paddle shifters when they swap out the OEM ASpec wheel with the heated one.

Traded an Acura for an Alfa to get away from problems. Surely, this is a low point in the lifecycle of the Acura brand.
