22-25 RDX Heated Steering Wheel Problem

I’ve come across several posts from others who successfully installed the 2022–2025 D-shaped RDX heated steering wheel in their 2019–2021 models without issue. I recently decided to go ahead with the installation myself, carefully following the Honda technician’s instructions. However, upon starting the vehicle, I encountered multiple error lights.

I was hoping I might be one of the few who could complete the swap without needing the Honda scan tool—but it looks like that’s not the case in my situation. The steering angle appears to be correct, as confirmed by the backup camera. I do have access to a capable scanner, but a friend is currently borrowing it.

For context, i’m getting a “charging system issue, LKAS, ACC, accompanied by a BRAKE error light”. Not too concerned, as I assume i’ll be able to delete it once i sort out whatever’s tripping it up.

MAIN CONCERN, my left and right steering control modules don’t work, i made sure everything was plugged in, anyone else encounter this issue?

Resolved my issue! Turns out the instructions are a bit flawed and the placement of the harness leave a bit to be desired.

I had the harness flipped, the thick GREEN one goes to the heated steering wheel. The instructions also fail to mention clipped the new wire to the rear of the steering wheel cover. All error lights gone after plugging it in correctly. W!!!
