Finally got the Bluetooth working and got the app installed. It’s nice to see what’s going on with the car and monitor some numbers. I set my iPhone to screen record so I can scroll through for any numbers I missed while driving. Nice boost for a drive to the supermarket!
So far im most impressed by how the driving modes react. In comfort, there is almost no difference. in sport, there is added grunt when you want it. In sport +, its a rocket ship that wants to make full boost all the time. Picture above is sport +.
assuming you have a newer rdx with the updated modes. Are you running the Phearable stage 3 tune?
I have a 2021 with Snow, Comfort, Sport and Sport +. Yup, I went right for the Phearable Stage 3.
oh okay wasnt sure. so thats the same settings i have. i noticed your boost levels were up at 24 , i was only able to see mine reach 22. Sometimes an extra pound or two can add up lol.
newer meaning 2019+? i have the same feel with my '19.
I have also seen 24+ boost.
i had misread what he wrote i was referring to his dynamic modes but he had the same ones as i do. I have yet to see it over 23psi. again depending on your area, fuel, elevations and other atmospheric differences can change all that. i was just hoping for a few extra ponies but no biggie lol.,
The only way I caught it going 24+ PSI was be screen recording my phone and scroll frame by frame when I got home when I was "getting on it." Viewing live you can easily miss when it maxes out. That's on the MAP as well, there is another setting I added for PSI (TC), they are usually very close though.
That screen shot was on a relatively low humidity, 75F day. 300ft elevation. 93 octane. AC off.
My next "upgrade" I think is just buying a cheap older iPhone or Andriod to mount and use as my screen. It runs fine on my actual phone but your music pauses going to and from the tuner app. I can get a refurbished old phone for about $100 it looks like just to run the Bluetooth app and still be in for less $$ than buying the V2 with the screen.

yea for sure ive done the same thing a few times. And yes your right i have 3 settings for boost pressure , MAP - TC Target and TC Pres. but all together im monitoring 11 different things on my screen lol.

Right now I monitor: RPM, Gear, TC Pressure, MAP Pressure, Engine Coolant Temp, Ignition Timing, IAT, IAT2, Battery Voltage, Knock CTRL, TPS and Air Fuel Ratio.
I feel these give me a good idea of how the tune and engine is performing, as well as the gas quality. Also nice to confirm your alternator works, engine isnt over heating, etc. Some of the layouts have a lot more info than we ever need!

I was about to say, wow Ive never seen my K.con that low but your engine is off LOL. I live around 0.32-0.45 normal driving, gets into the 0.5s when I step on it.

no my k.con stays at .20 mostly all the time unless I do a hard ass pull then it’ll climb up. I run a mix of e85 and 93

How do you do that? Im assuming you live in a state where you can fill your own car. In NJ e85 is not really available, according to the internet there a total of 4 stations that carry it.

yea I live in PA and we have Sheetz gas station that carries e85 , so I mix it according to Phearable’s suggestion usually 1.5-1.75 gallons of E rest with 93 for my tune.

Question, just trying to understand what I see. I see 24.3 PSI. Is that the total pressure in the manifold? If yes, wouldn’t that imply boost of 9.6 PSI? Doesn’t total manifold pressure equal atmospheric pressure (14.7psi) PLUS boost? Isn’t boost the difference between total manifold pressure and atmospheric pressure?
Does PSI ever show a negative number? For example, if you are at speed and take your foot of the gas, the throttle plate closes completely and creates a vacuum in the manifold. Does your PSI gauge show a negative number or does it go as low as 4 PSI ±1? A value of 4.7 PSI would imply a vacuum of 10 PSI.
Also, the TPS shows 52%. I thought that value meant the throttle plate was open 52%, or roughly half throttle. At half throttle, boost of 9.6 psi seems reasonable. If you fully floor the gas pedal, do you see 100% TPS? If yes, what is PSI then? Is it around 34.7 PSI? That would imply 20 pounds of boost on top of 14.7 PSI of atmospheric pressure. Thanks.

you would be better off hooking up your laptop , running ktuner, and logging data for a run or two while capturing the data you are interested in. You can log much more than you see here.

I appreciate your response. Thanks. But my question regarded how to interpret that PSI (MAP) value. Does it represent boost or manifold pressure? Based on that screenshot, how do you know how much boost the turbo supplied at that moment?

In the app you can set pressure for relative or absolute. I am in relative, which means its zeroed out and doesnt factor in ambient pressure. So its only showing boost. Im running out at lunch and will grab some additional screen shots. I changed my layout to include turbo control pressure.
Here are some additional screen shots taken while screen recording. I tried to capture some different boost and TPS numbers. These have turbo and MAP pressure, which are usually pretty close.

Hey guys,
Just uploaded the phearable stage 3 tune to my 2019 rdx and all I can say is wow! Its like a whole new car. I was shocked once I first stepped on it . I have a 450hp Camaro and I couldn't believe it! shifts smooth and power delivery is smooth. Didn't know these 2.0L engines had this much power in them.
That’s good to hear. I’ve had a bit of buyers remorse over the stock power level/stock performance of my RDX that I picked up. I’m hoping the Stage 3 will change that!

are you using Bluetooth from your V1.2 to your phone to get/show this data in real time?

Yup! I didnt want the V2 as I have no need to look at this info all the time. The app connects pretty simply (will always pause your music when open it but just hit play again) and you can see it all live.

Its definitely worth the purchase. It wakes up the car really nice and you will notice it immediately. Like i have said before it runs and drives like completely normal but when you get on it you feel it. Especially when im cruising around and im in 6th it pulls really good in that gear. Also ive brake boost launched it twice and its pretty wild how quick it will lauch out of the hole. There is a video online of someone who did it with a Draggy - stock with a stage 3 tune brake boosted launch and went sub 5 seconds 0-60!
I purchased this tune but haven't flashed yet. Has anyone encountered any issues with it? I haven't seen anything negative about it but I'm wondering how many folks are out there in the wild with this tune.

been running it over a year with no issues to report except the fact of being happy with it

I’m not experienced modding my car and would have someone install it all professionally for me. Just wondering if I’ll actually need the intercooler and if the exhaust will add that much hp. I’ve seen others on here just going for the tune and intake, seems like the most cost effective route but I’d be willing to do the intercooler and exhaust if it’s worth it. Also, any exhaust recommendations?
Cheers

The Stage 3 tune is super easy to install, probably no need to go to anyone to have it done. A PRL intake tube and K&N style filter will free up some air and increase the happy turbo sounds! If you drive in consistently hot climates the intercooler would be a good addition but I havent had any issues in hot NJ summers with the stock one, just dont beat on it as much. There are very few performance exhaust options for the RDX, and the ones out there will cost you a pretty penny are and still hard to find in stock. A downpipe would be a better upgrade in terms of power (RV6 for example).
Install any mods and parts before the tune. When you purchase the tune you need to tell Phearable what you have on the car and the tune will be catered to your parts.
Can anyone tell me if the Phearable stage 3 tune is worth it on 91 vs the Ktuner stage 2?
93 is a rare option to find around here.
I know this is a late reply, but I found this from another reply in this thread:
"i confirmed that the phearable stage 3 - 91 octane tune produces 13hp and 17 lb-ft torque over the Ktuner stage 2."
So, it seems it's very marginal. KTuner Stage 2 may be the more...sensible tune for everyday driving. +13HP and +17lb Torque is very minimal - but one thing is that the shifting and power-through the band might be better with Phearable Stage 3 than KTuner Stage 2. So...some marginal increase in HP/Trq but perhaps better power through the band as well.
I think what I'm personally going to do, is go KTuner Stage 2 - then later go with Pearable Stage 3 + throw on some aftermarket stuff like a cold air intake, maybe an aftermarket intercooler and downpipe, but that would be it.
It really depends on what Acura does with the RDX for 2026 and beyond. I'd love an RDX Type-S, but if it doesn't come or it's lackluster, then adding more Phearable Stage 3 and some bolt-on performance parts will be a good way to go.
Also, if you have SH-AWD, the HP/Trq will be even less - so something to consider as well.

Thanks; appreciate it.
I was talking to an AI about it and everything you're saying seems to be correct, also based on all the research I've read in other sources.
Minimal gain in overall power, but 17 additional torque is something. That's likely more than what I'd gain with the intake. I also read the power delivery should be smoother with the Phearable Stage 3. Likely more power under the curve.
I may get the PRL intake pipe, but that's about the extent of it for me. Like you, I'd prefer to just get a performance version of the vehicle, but we shouldn't hold our breath to see it, because we likely won't. But based on what I've read, the stage 3 could be comparable to a Type-S RDX anyway. Nice compromise.

What i can say on this is the "power" you will gain with the intake will not be noticeable and essentially useless. However you will gain the sound which we all love. The Phearable Stage 3 is imo completely different than Stage 2 however the drivability is no different than stock. The power thru the gears tho is much more noticable. When i put my car into Sport+ and Sequential mode with the paddles its quite crazy how much different it is. I have been daily driving my 20' with stage 3 for almost 2 years with no issues. The nice thing is the tune comes already in the tuner for stage 1,2 and you will have to pay extra for 3. Still your choice but best bang for your buck is 3. Just my opinion.

Good to hear you've had no issues in 2 years. I don't plan to beat on it and I'm meticulous with maintenance so I for see no issues as well, hopefully.
I agree on your assessment of the intake. Yes, it'd be for the fun woosh sounds only.
Ordered the V1.2 w/phearable stage 3 last night. I'm excited. Like you, I drive in Sport+ and Sequential all the time as is. Even got the paddle shifter extenders.

Yes ive been enjoying the tune especially in the cooler weather , the turbo loves that cool air! And agree with you on the fact i rarely ever beat it or go full throttle. But i do seem to do some 3/4 throttle rips through a few gears , lots of fun with the extra low end torque. You'll see once you have the tune downloaded you'll love it!

Quite the change after installing the tune. So far I've only driven about 20 minutes, due to weather, but I really like the change!
Seems like shift speed might be increased as well.
Throttle response is so much better, which was the change I was most looking forward to. You give it 70-80% throttle before the tune and it takes like 1 second to react; seems like that's gone.
MPG is about the same driving normally too so far too. Looking forward to taking a longer trip and see how she performs on the highway.
Wow is this software clunky and odd to figure out though. Not really sure what it's all capable of. I research online and seems like menus and instructions are different based on the version for your vehicle? Not sure. I need to figure out how to link the V1.2 to my Tunerview app because I'm not sure what the pin is, so I can't get it to link. I read via AI I may be able to disable the pin in the software, but I still have a lot to figure out. Either way, it's a great change as is.
Any of you in states that require emissions testing? Do you just remove the tune for testing, then flash it again after passing? Or can you leave the tune in place for testing?

my state of PA does emissions but they only test the gas cap. You can leave the tune in place and just remove the module.
Whats up y'all!? I normally post regulary on the 2g tsx threads but I've been lurking these threads to see what kind of fun you've been having with the 3g Rdx's.
Now I'm not to familiar with how Ktuner's set up but I may have a solution for you.
on my Tsx I have an android after market head unit and the car is tuned via flashpro. With that said I have an older version of Flashpro mobile on the head unit and connect to it via Bt on the flashpro. So its basically like the vtuner display. Have any of you tried Installing the app on the stock Rdx unit? I was an Acura tech but I forgot if the head unit was android based or not. I was thinking if it is, in theory you should be able to do the same thing.
The other Idea I had was. Have any of you tried Using phone mirror to casT your phone to the head unit. Its basically an extra step but it could work. 🤷♂️
I'll post some pics of my flashpro setup for refference.
Has anyone ran this tune stock vs modded? Intake/downpipe/intercooler? Curious to know anyone's first hand experiences if they could feel a difference.
