Phearable Stage 3 Tune
Hey guys,
Just uploaded the phearable stage 3 tune to my 2019 rdx and all I can say is wow! Its like a whole new car. I was shocked once I first stepped on it . I have a 450hp Camaro and I couldn't believe it! shifts smooth and power delivery is smooth. Didn't know these 2.0L engines had this much power in them.

Wow! Sounds like an easy and worthwhile mod for tweaking more power out of these engines! I'm new to engine mods, are there reliability concerns (easier to nuke engine)? Is there a big drop in mpg when commuting? Can you easily revert back to factory tune? Thanks!!!

Very nice. I'm considering getting it too but on the fence. Any reliability issues? How does it compare to your Camaro

I just flashed my 2020 rdx with the Phearable Stage 3 tune and I can agree with others it’s awesome. The mid range power and quicker spool it’s worth it. The car has really woken up now and you can feel the torque difference.

Does anyone know if the stage 3 - 91 octane tune still produces more power and tq than stage 2?
#13
Racer
- Power Gains: 54 HP 100 TQ over stock & 36 HP 58 TQ over Ktuner Stage 2 on 93 octane
- 91 Octane Version Produces 278 HP 318 TQ
KTuner Stage 2 listed as:
- Up to 60 lb-ft of torque increase over factory
- Up to 45whp increase over factory
- 29whp peak-to-peak
Hard to tell if everyone is talking the same "HP" as it depends where the measurement is taken, I believe.

I would say it’s quite noticeable. The good thing is if you drive normal with a light foot you would never tell it’s flashed which I like but the more throttle you give the more you get and it ramps up acceleration and torque a lot faster and feels like it pulls thru all the Rpm’s. Throttle response has greatly improved also. And yes I run a 93 tune.

If your on the fence about it you’ll definitely want it. Sure it’s an investment but besides a bigger turbo it’s the best mod you can do for the car. The tune is still within all the parameters of the vehicle just a lot more torque and just driving when you get into the throttle a little it just picks up so much faster. It’s really awesome and fun to drive.

Per the Phearable website:
KTuner Stage 2 listed as:

interesting , can you tell me assuming you dyno’d it was it done in awd or fwd and what type of dyno ? I’m running a mix of 93 with a splash of E but still curious
#25
Sorry I should have been more clear. I confirmed with KTuner customer support. I was curious because I'm considering getting the 91 octane tune for a little more headroom since the 93 tune relies on high quality 93.

Do you have anywhere that sells E85 around you? i have been using citgo 93 and my Kcon was around .20 - .035 which is where it should be. recently i threw in 1.5 gallons of E with the rest 93 and my kcon has stayed at .20. If you have access its worth it and more power and tq that the 91 tune.

just make sure to follow the instructions when making your account for ktuner and then saving your tune to your desktop so your able to find it and load it into the ktuner.

#32
you should have the Ktuner module plugged into the laptop when setting everything up and making the account.

Dumb question, how many times do I hit the start button (without pushing the brake obviously) to put the car into the correct accessory mode to upload the tune? I think twice?

Tune installed! Easy and fast process. All my lights cleared before I even started the 30 minute ECU relearn drive. Knock/misfire count was at 5 and 4 but the k.con ended around 0.44 which is apparently normal during the “break in.” I also think I’m still working through some 87 octane in the tank from the dealer.
Even though I didn’t push anything yet it feels awesome. Much easier acceleration and the turbo just wants go! Sounds amazing with the windows down. Getting up to speed without even going above 50% throttle is effortless.

I'm very seriously considering this mod but what I haven't been able to find is how this might affect the warranty. I would flash back to the stock tune before going to a dealer for any service but would they even think to check the ECU for a tune or have a way to tell that other tunes had been flashed in? I have Acuracare for the next 5 years and 70,000ish more miles but I don't want to void it and I also don't want to wait that long. Even the Acuracare verbiage said intakes would void the warranty so I'm holding off on the PRL or HPS intake mods.

I have a ktune and intake mod, and have brought it in multiple times without issue. (2019)

I'm reading the AcuraCare fine print here: https://www.curryacuracare.com/coverage.cfm
"Covered parts damaged as the result of the failure of a non-covered part are not eligible for coverage."
To me this means if I have an issue with the engine or trans, they are going to find a reason not to cover it, and this statement above, followed by the below, is what they will point to.
"Racing, competitive driving activities, drifting, modification, alteration, tampering, disconnection, or the installation of aftermarket performance parts including but not limited to: cold air intakes; strut tower braces; headers; exhaust systems; adjustable fuel rails; nitrous oxide (NOS); and/or performance/racing clutches.
Any other aftermarket part or accessory that caused or contributed to a MECHANICAL or ELECTRICAL BREAKDOWN or any structural modification that may have contributed to or caused damage to covered components."
This thread also seems to indicate Acura could tell if the ECU was modified by some sort of flash counter. Seems very speculative though, was hoping for a clear answer.

Finally got the Bluetooth working and got the app installed. It’s nice to see what’s going on with the car and monitor some numbers. I set my iPhone to screen record so I can scroll through for any numbers I missed while driving. Nice boost for a drive to the supermarket!
So far im most impressed by how the driving modes react. In comfort, there is almost no difference. in sport, there is added grunt when you want it. In sport +, its a rocket ship that wants to make full boost all the time. Picture above is sport +.
