Has anyone retro added wireless phone charger module from a 2022 RDX into early 2019 or later? I would like to add this but unsure how to remove the lower console bin under the gear selector and touch pad. Any info would be great.

 

I looked into this, and it isn't possible. The area under the rubber mat in the 22+ cars has a removable panel that exposes a 7 pin connector required to power the wireless charger and also an area for the base to sit. In the 19-21 cars the area is a solid piece of plastic and the wiring isn't there. I've resorted to getting a rubber made wireless charger from Amazon and placing it there with an adaptor in the 12v power plug as the factory charging port is only 5v output and most chargers want 9v for faster charging.

 

If charging is the only goal.

Aftermarket wireless charger can be added for less than $10.00 and plugs into the USB port.

 

If you have an apple phone with magsafe, I highly recommend the spiegel mount. I stuck mine on the console over the passenger airbag warning light, and it pivots to a pretty good mount position without interfering with any of the drive select buttons.

I actually liked it enough that I bought one for our '22 even though it has a wireless charging pad already - I found the OEM one did not charge very well and there are times that I wanted the phone visible. The USB port below the console is a short distance away so routing a cord is easy and doesn't clutter up the cabin much at all.
