hi guys
what is the 2019 rdx remote engine range? i find it doesn't start even when i'm inside the house.

they said it has to be locked, which my car is, but it pretty much always flashes "RED" once or twice before i get it to work.
do you have to push LOCK button again just to remote start it each time?

just curious what other ppl's expensive is.

i can easily go back to dealership and ask the salesman but didn't want to drive that far

I press the LOCK button (left side yellow LED blinks once) and then press and hold the ENGINE HOLD button for a count of 5 (middle green LED will light up solid to confirm that the engine has started).

oh ok..i guess i didn't read the instructions properly. didn't know i had to always push lock first before holding remote start button....i guess thats to prevent accidental starting (i thought as long as it was already locked you could start engine remotely)

If you're talking about the FOB remote start, flashing red means it's out of range. It's good for over 300 ft but that is lower if your going through obstructions (concrete walls etc.). No need to go back to the dealer since it's all covered in the Owners Manual that should be required reading by all owners.

Red means you are out of range

It can also mean you didn't press 'Lock' before you tried to start remotely, which is the issue discussed (and resolved) here.
