Innercooler screen

I live in Kansas where we usually see tons of grasshoppers to deal with. With the RDX's intercooler sitting down low by the road, has anyone placed a screen over the intercooler to keep it clean and the fins straight?

No but sounds like a pretty good idea for you.

Sounds like a good idea, as we get all kinds of bugs in Arizona in the summer. I would want to make sure that the mesh didn’t obstruct air flow to the intercooler, but small opening enough to keep the bug guts out of the unit.

Something like this
mesh sheet ? mesh sheet ?
I have used something similar on my motorcycle, to guard against rocks.

Should be able to find a coated screen locally, with my blue car I’d do black, then you would have to find away to install it, is this going to be permanent or something you take off eventually?

My thoughts would be to make it as permanent as possible. Once on I can’t imagine removing it. It would also keep fins from getting mashed from small rocks.

it it would slow down airflow...
maybe install it and leave an opening at the bottom so the bugs are caught coming straight in, but you get get more airflow in a roundabout way from the bottom.
