Does anyone know how to open and change the door light for this model?
The light cover looks so different compared to my previous TSX 2009. I can't see any clip point on the cover from outside. I pushed flat screw driver in each side and tried to lever it as how most of the clip-on works, but this one doesn't seem to moving out. I was too chicken to apply more force.
Does anyone have experience on this (maybe previous 2018 models have the similar cover and you know how that work)?
I searched in owner manual and online, no luck so far.
I changed my incandescent bulbs to Sylvania LED's that match the color of the other interior lighting last week. I removed the door light assembly by prying down on the rear with a small, thin, flat-blade screwdriver wrapped with a layer of tape to avoid scratches. I unplugged it then carefully separated the gray plastic back cover from the main body so I could access the bulb. Fortunately, nothing got scratched or broken, but I the process was a bit nerve-wrecking.

Thanks, man. No wonder I couldn't remove mine before, I was focusing on the light cover, did not know it uses assembly now.
2 things to share:
- Prying point is at front, not rear.
- The socket is on horizontal direction, so if the LED bulb is on the same direction with the socket, most of the light will not project down. 360-degree ones are preferred.

I couldn't see any door lights on mine except for the small red light in the pocket of the inside door handle. Yours must be above Aspec ---> Platinum Elite (or whatever the US variant is called).

A-Spec should have it. Mine is on the bottom of the front driver door (did not check the front passenger side).
You can change the door lights with an LED Acura logo projected on the floor
Check out this thread in the Facebook RDX group that we had on installing this mod. Love the look of this and is super easy. The links to the bulbs and installation instructions are there. Took me maybe 10 mins!

Thanks for the info. Which Sylvania's did you use? How much of a difference did it make. I really didn't even realize there were lights there until I saw these posts. They are pretty dim.
These will work on 2019. You only need 2. Once you pop the oem lights out and disconnect them, you need to bend the pins a bit in the new projector light to get them to fit properly in the oem harness. Then they just snap back in place. Takes all of 10 mins. Works great!!

I got these too and I like them! Too bad only the front doors have lights...
Got them also. Pretty cool! Easy to install and appreciably brighter than the dim stock lights. Agree it's too bad the rear doors don't have lights too. Now if I could just get that glove box light changed to LED to add some more light there.

I was trying to swap out the glove box lightbulb, thinking it was a standard 194 wedge bulb, but I was wrong...it was a tiny bulb that I don’t even know what size nor where to get a bulb for it.

It's a 74 bulb...Acura's been using that same fixture in there for over a decade. I used
bulb. Whatever you get, the light needs to direct to the side for best output. Keep in mind the glove box light is always on when the headlights are on, so if the glove box doesnt close tightly or the light is too bright, you might get some light bleeding out of the crack or projecting onto the door. The bulbs in my link gave a little projection on the door but only my passenger noticed when I asked them to inspect.

Thanks for the info. Didn’t realize the light stays lit when the headlights are on. Not sure if I trust the LED bulbs to be on all the time when the headlights are running even though LEDs are supposed to run on less power?
I parked on a dark street yesterday and couldn’t see any light when I opened the door, wasn’t sure they were working. Today I went to Autozone and bought some Sylvania LED Zevo 168 bulbs. Easy to change and now the lights illuminate the ground when opening the door. It’s an easy fix and glad I found this post.
No. The courtesy lights on the bottoms of the front doors are incandescent from the factory.
I happened to have some spare 194 LED bulbs and just changed out my my door courtesy lights. I've ordered some vanity mirror LED light bulbs from eB*y Changing the incandescent light bulbs to LED is a relatively easy mod. The difference is like night and day. Thanks for sharing the chart and tips.
Ok I’m officially screwed up!! Just looked at both my door lights and realized I have been driving around for over a year with 2 different lights installed. The first pic is the one I installed over just over a year ago after I bought the car. The second pic is the correct one that matches the passenger side! One has the outermost ring red and the correct one the word Acura is in red with everything else white! WTF was smoking all this time????? I pulled out the small disc that the logo is printed on and noticed the film has a green tint to it and it’s companion didn’t. I think these corrected ones look better than the ones in the previous post near the top of the thread IMO.

BTW, the perfect tool to remove the light from the door is a cable clamp. The curled end goes under the light edge closest to the door hinge and it just rolls the light out. It was more difficult to remove the inside box covering the bulb.
Flathead screwdriver with tape on the tip works just fine for me.
Yeah, I'm sure people are more likely to have a screwdriver, but I happened to have this and it worked so perfectly I thought I'd mention as an alternative.

Appreciate the suggestion, as I am considering the upgrade. I am always concerned about "messing" things up...this looks like a brilliant idea! Thanks
