Cargo Cover Installation

Has anyone installed the Cargo Cover? I bought one figuring there’d be a notch for it, but instead there are holes that need to be opened. For the life of me I can get the placeholders out. Has anyone installed one of these themselves and have any suggestions? I tried punching them out and they don't budge. I got these tools that are supposed to somehow do something, but the gap isn't big enough for the tool to fit. I really don't want to remove the side panel.

i used a small flathead and just pryed them out. They went flying afterwards cause they were in there so tight. You have to really dig into before prying them. I damaged the 2 covers so i definitely wont be putting them back on.

yea get a thing flat head, stick on the side and then tilt it back and pry it out, they will probably shoot across the car, mine did, it will work even easier if you use 2 screwdrivers and do one on each side and pry at the same time

Just received and installed mine yesterday. I used a pocket knife to pop out the caps. Screw driver might be too thick and you could risk damaging the plastic.

Because it's not standard equipment.

Popped the inserts out with a small knife. No damage to the plastic. The cargo cover fit right into where the inserts were removed.

I just installed the factory OEM cover in under 10 minutes (bought via Amazon - had to pay shipping but still cheapest I could find).

If you insert a knife blade gently into the side of square sided cavity (that is nearest to the rear of the RDX) and then pry gently the cover comes out easily with no cap damage.

My dealer wanted $150 for the installation !

A lot of people don't actually want one or need one. I bought one thinking it'd be useful (and my wife insisted for security reasons) but it's been completely useless from day one. I used it maybe once in 7 months. It just gets in the way.

mine makes a lot of creaking noises too unless I have it tightened, I might just take mine out as well

I use mine several times a week. It was packaged as part of a deal with the all weather mats and something else I forget. Anyway, installation was included if you went with the package on the day of purchase. Price was meh but it was not bad for going local..

I just use a cargo net when I want to hold things down. When I want to hide.....

I keep a dark curtain in one of the cubby holes, and just drape it over everything if I need to hide anything. I chose a dark curtain panel because it has the reinforced holes in it, so I just use large S Biners to hook it to the back hold downs, flip it over the back seats, fill up the trunk, and flip it all forward. You can’t see enything but dark from the outside.

I use my cover when it’s range time with my daughter to keep the guns out of sight.

I installed cargo cover on mine, and dont really like its design. I liked previous design better than had a solid plate covering entire cargo without having the need to pull some cover.

Ok so I cracked the plastic on the driver’s side and the cap still didn’t come out, WTF. Could someone tell me where to get the part number for the whole plastic piece, I won’t be able to rest till I fix this crap.
