RDX Update Issues

RDX Update Issues
Finally got the time to install the latest update on my 2019 RDX A-Spec this week and I'm having a lot of issues. Apple Car Play comes and goes when it used to be pretty reliable. Bluetooth Hands-free isn't working at all so I can't make calls which is a big problem since Georgia now has "Hands-Free Law". I use an old iPod plugged into the USB port for my music so I don't have to connect my iPhone every time I get in the car. Once connected it just sits there and spins "Initializing" and never connects to the iPod. The USB port connection is good because the iPod is charging while connected and also when I connect my iPhone the connection is good until Apple Car Play dies. As I mentioned it is an old iPod so maybe the new update doesn't include the old iPod. Searched the posts and didn't see anyone else with these problems. I'm guessing I can't go back to the old version. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Other random things to try, in no particular order, are:
• Reset the infotainment system to factory defaults
• Delete the phone from the bluetooth connections list and then pair it again
• Delete the AcuraLink app from the phone, then reinstall it
• Get a brand new genuine Apple lightning cable. Just cuz something will charge on a cable doesn't mean it won't have communications anomalies.
But if the iPod can't be updated to a current revision of iOS, it may be asking a lot for it to play nice with CarPlay. Can you use a thumb drive instead? ( Yeah, I know the music file organization isn't as nice. )

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. That was my first thought, but this is the 2nd update since I bought my 2019 seven months ago. The 1st update finally gave me Apple Car Play. Wouldn't a full reset lose my Car Play?

But the original settings did not have Car Play connectivity back when I bought it in Sept. It wasn't until my first update around Oct. that I finally got the ability to use Car Play. As I said, I will give it a shot...nothing to lose but my settings as you said.

"Factory reset" doesn't restore the software to what the vehicle came with from the factory, for better or worse. It just restores settings to defaults and clears any user-entered data or "history". This is mostly intended to protect user privacy when the car is sold.
AFAIK there is no mechanism to "roll back" software updates that have been applied to the vehicle. Or maybe I should say there appears to be no mechanism for consumers to do so. Dealer service may have tools to do such things with their HDS scanners.

Try this...it worked for me (Car Play)👏👍🏼👍🏼
I was able to fix this on my iPhone Xby going to settings in the Acura RDX ->, connection->, CarPlay, finding my phone, then “enabling” my phone on the Acura RDX system.

i don’t want to do a factory reset and go through setting everything up all over again only to find that my music is still popping and skipping on car play.
Thanks in advance!

I go between a USB thumb drive that has gigs of my music on it and Apple Car Play. I guess I am blessed because the only issue I get is when I get “USB Error”, or “No Data on device”.
Someone here suggested turning your sound system off before turning off the engine, and then wait till the disclaimer is done and then turn it on with the steering wheel button.
Using that has definitely decreased the issues.

I have installed the last update D.1.1.2 two months ago but for the past two days I’m getting update alerts but when I try to update, it says I’m up to date? What is the latest update now?
