I've been having problem with the audio randomly cutting in and out and then stopping all together. they tried to fix this by replacing the amp...didn't work. they finally decided to replace the infotainment unit itself. my question is do all the trims share the same hardware with different software(?). I have the advance trim I don't want to lose the ELS 3d Studio.

 

Not sure if the head units are different. Base models have a 9 speaker system with an amplifier. Tech models have an ELS 12 speaker system with a 500+ watt amplifier. A-Spec and Advance models have an ELS 3D 16 speaker system with a 700+ watt amplifier.

If an Acura dealer is replacing the head unit, I’m sure they will use the correct one for your Advance.

 

Headunits are the same. Difference is in the amp and speakers. Dsp programming etc.
