Hi all - I just wanted to confirm that while True Touch on the touch pad works OK in general, it does NOT work in Apple Carplay. On Apple Carplay it is more of a scroll-like movement. Is that the case for everyone? Kinda sucks.

 

Yes...that is how it operates in CarPlay mode and I don't anticipate that changing. No big deal really.

 

Yes, this is a known issue that Apple's CarPlay is not designed to work with the True Touch system. There is hope that a future update might remedy this, but I think it would require some design tweaking by Apple, so I'm not holding my breath that a fix is imminent.

Personally, while I like the True Touch concept, I also don't mind the traditional "track pad" type control for CarPlay. The problem is, going back and forth between the two systems is very annoying. True Touch takes a little while to get the hang of, but I would probably get a lot better at it if it also worked with CarPlay.
