3D Buildings?

Both "3D" and "Building and Landmarks" are set to on, but I have yet to see a building or landmark (other an a lake or golf course name) appear on my nav. The pictures in the manual show 3D buildings. Is there another setting that I'm missing?

Unrelated, but I also noticed that the POI's are very dated. There are restaurants listed that closed 3 years ago and one year old restaurants that don't appear. I purchased the RDX less than 2 weeks ago. I mistakenly thought that the POI's would be somewhat up to date. I know I can use apple car play maps, but I just paid a bunch for a vehicle that should be up to date at time of purchase.

This is typical of factory navigation systems. Information is gathered from a variety of sources (which can be outdated themselves) and changes hands several times before being finalized and sent to distribution and loaded into the vehicle. Even "live" maps like Google Maps and Apple Maps don't actually update in real time - it can take months for new POI's and roads to appear.

I live in the Hampton Roads area in Va and when I am in Downtown Norfolk all the buildings are in 3D. You will only see 3D buildings in the major city centers where you live. Outside of that it’s just the standard map view.

I live in a suburb of a city with about a 150K population. Next time I'm in the city I'll check it out. Thanks for the info.
