2022 RDX - Text Messages on Display
I must be regressing because I cannot find the setting that puts an incoming text message to my phone onto the secondary screen on the display.
In my '19 RDX when I would get a text the message would appear for 10 seconds or so in that second window, and if I was quick enough I could press PLAY and the car would read the text message.
My '22 doesn't do this and I went through the phone settings and changed a few message options but nothing seems to work. Anyone know the actual setting for this feature?
THANKS

So, nothing in the manual huh? Yes, I've noticed car manufacturers often don't go into great-detail about actuals screen and use of their head-unit MMIs.
Just remember that "how" the phone is connected to the car is important.
- If connected as (simple) Bluetooth phone, the car (and its settings) would determine something like that.
- If connected as Apple-CarPlay/Android-AA) you use the settings on phone (and the car's on-board settings are mostly ignored).
At least, that is my experience with the Acuras and Audis.

Second, are you using Android Auto or CarPlay? If so, wirelessly? In my departed 19, when I received texts, they would appear on the larger left screen, via Android Auto, (USB wired connection), it did show at the top of the screen, and I could have that message read out loud. I almost always had my phone plugged in, so I can't speak for the car's ability to display and read back the message. FWIW, my current Highlander will do this, even if I am not connected to AA.
If all goes well at the dealer in mid-March, I expect to have a '22 RDX Advance.
With an iPhone, there is a setting in the Bluetooth settings you need to enable. Sometimes if it's been a long time since you connected your phone you forget. Go to Settings> Bluetooth. Find the Acura device in the list and click the (i) icon to the right of the device. On the next screen make sure "Show Notifications" is enabled.
