Minimal display

I thought that was part of the driver attention monitor system. “Minimal” means something like “don’t check for attentiveness too often” or something like that. I may be mistaken.

Same on my 22 RDX. The 'minimal' goes away after a few seconds, left with a blank screen.

My 22 had a digital speed as an option, minimal is blank when you give it a second. So its what it says, MINIMAL.

If you go look at a '22 I think they resolved your issues. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for not having to see the word minimal on the screen.

Also I never use the spedo in the center, thats what the HUD is for. Another '22 achievement for which I thank all the feedback from the previous years owners.

If they would just do a Type S on the RDX....

I grew up in an analog world, so I am comfortable with both a digital and analog speedometer. I understand that digital is replacing analog in a number of areas such as clocks, thermometers, combination locks, radio tuning knobs, etc. so having a digital speedometer gauge is probably a good thing across all of the product line. HUD is not across the product line. Not everyone knows analog anymore.

I suppose if that were the case it would have been removed by now.

It goes away on the '22s after a few seconds, leaving a blank screen.

Indeed it does, as it remembers the last setting as well. Like mph…..you get the initial boot up seat belt warning etc but then reverts to last setting.

Why on earth they included the word "Minimal" in big bold letters on a page that is intended to be blank is beyond me. This is poor design execution. Acura should have just left it blank.
After my first few months I wrote a long (and therapeutic) message to the “suggestion” section of their website citing this among other other poor design choices with the dash.

They don’t care.

If it wasn’t for the HUD, being able to quickly identify my speed would be impossible. Putting 20 MPH between ticks and no overt identifier for the numbers in between is something so stupidly easy to fulfill, I’m often left wondering if designers over there even drive an Acura.

Reading any of the the gauges on my 2019 ASPEC was a PITA, especially the Speedo. So glad I have a 2022 with HUD as well as digital mph in the gauge cluster now.
