Why is the front windshield garbage?
Every time I drive this car the smallest/tiniest pepples keep hitting my windshield chipping it and causing cracks. Why is this and what's the best windshield to use for replacement?

Have you ever seen a glass breaker on a knife or emergecy/recovery tool? It is usually a very small round bb. Not a large or sharp object. Pin point stressors break glass easier than larger spread out stressors.

I think he is correct. I had a 2013 RDX, drove it for 8 years, not a chip. 2021 RDX, one windshield replacement and two chip repairs in three years. I do very little highway and do not follow cars close. Either cheap glass or rock magnet. Hoping my present MDX does better.

Have you checked into Exoshield PPF for the exterior of the windshield. I have Exoshield on my 18 RLX (+35,000 miles) and 19 MDX (+51,500 miles). I live in the sandy southwest with hwy speeds of 65-85 mph. Exoshield wasn't available with my previous vehicles and had chips, stars, cracks, and windshield road rash on the front glass. That was back in the day when you can replace the glass for +/- $150. I've had a few very loud windshield debris strikes with zero damage to the glass (I can feel the damage on the PPF sometimes).
It requires some maintenance with waxing Exoshield PPF every 3-6 weeks to help lube the wipers and fill in any scratches from wiper use (probably wax more if you get a lot rain). Not recommended to use an ice scraper on the PPF. The Exoshield PPF will last around 3-4 years with a good maintenance routine.

Ive have the same windshield issues with mine. 2022 Aspec Advance and have had to REPLACE mine twice and filled once 🤦♂️. I do a lot of highway driving and it is very frustrating. We do get snow and use a scrapper occasionally - not sure what other options I have ?
