What's plug to OBD2 terminal?

Does anyone know what is it that plug in to the OBD2 terminal, just notice when looking at the OBD2 terminal some kind of device plug to it with little red light..

A elm327 module will speak to cell or app

The software is as important as the hardware they read (pids) some call them cel or dtcs some require software purchases to open full or they limit your features working wirelessly you have to calculate Lag time in Ms milli seconds but allows you to monitor the primary computer of vehicle. like any processor when memory is wrote into and logs made this will allow you to read the info for under 20 for a cheap plug and software depends on your devices os or iOS. Security and other systems have other devices or pin reset plugs to short to clear. Obd systems are usually regulated to under the drive plastic but can be left or right of steering wheel.

Did you buy some type of rust proofing that supposedly uses electricity? I think it's snake oil they usually sell in Canada.

not at all, I do not buy any extra, except rear cargo cover, nothing else..not in my invoice..
