Car was traded in to dealer that did all the service on the car. What to do with the following? I’m inclined to toss it all:
Service records
Insurance claims and bodywork
Purchasing paperwork
Registration
I did buy an extended warranty which I plan to cancel but I have a feeling the payout will be minimal since they replaced rear shocks recently which I think came from that.

Personally I would take a phone photo of anything worth over 1k along with initial purchase and sales, and then throw it all out. Either keep the pics forever since they take no space or delete them after statute of limitations.
If the warranty is acuracare then it is time/mileage proratably refundable regardless of whether it was used. Make sure you keep all original documents until Acuracare gives you the money.

If the trade is now completed, I would toss out all that information, or see if you can get some sort of refund for the warranty, although I have never heard of that happening.
If the extended warranty was transferable to the new owner, I would have waited until the salesman said "We can't give you much for your trade-in because that ticking noise means your engine is about to disintegrate". When they say that to me, I respond with "Well engine replacement is covered by my warranty, so fix it for me this afternoon and then give me what I asked for it".
Even if the salesman doesn't use these scare tactics on you, he knows that selling a car with a transferable warranty makes it more appealing to the prospective used car buyer. That should result in a higher trade-in value for you.

Acuracare is transferrable once to a private party. It is not transferrable to a dealer, so cancellation and refund from Acura would be the only option in this scenario.
If its a 3rd party warranty then could be anything as they all have their own rules.

"Transferable"....plus I believe there is a fee... something like $75. And, it (according to a local dealer) has to be done through the dealer you bought the new Acura from.
