Went to an RDX Launch Event tonight...AWESOME
Wow...what a totally cool experience it was to see the amazing 2019 Acura RDX in person after all this time talking about it and looking at pictures and videos online.
The seats are perfect! Extremely comfortable...an absolutely joy to sit in. I sat in the back, too, and it was excellent. People in the back will love the heated and ventilated seats and two USB power ports all to themselves on the Advance. Everything about the inside exuded luxury and next-level quality.
I was able to maneuver around with the True Touchpad Interface and really liked it. I can’t wait to really personalize it and take full advantage of the 1:1 mapping once I get familiarized with its functionality. The center console that sits to the back (above the sliding wood cover in the middle) actually slides up for a purpose, which is so that you can comfortably rest you right forearm on it while you have your hand on the padded wrist rest and fingers on the TTI.
This dealership went all out — the food spread was absolutely awesome. Even had a wine bar. During the presentation, the co-business partner said that they will be getting about 60 cars over the next few weeks and about half of them are already spoken for.
A really nice time, making it worthwhile driving about 50 miles one way through the infamous Capital Beltway and its infamous rush hour traffic. lol

The food looks good (so does the car). One thing I really liked when I saw the RDX in person is that the transmission button area looked much better in person than in the pictures. From the pictures, I thought it was situated more between the seats like on the TLX, but was pleased to see it is actually further forward and out of the way.

Very true about the gear shift. Using that will be new for me, but helpful it seems to be physically well placed.

Thanks for the pics but in all honesty I think you should buy the wife/girlfriend a new pair of jeans before you put a deposit down on the car.

I had a voicemail from Saturday in my office from my dealer..he offered to drive an RDX over to my office to do a test drive. I thought that was a nice touch. But this event looked amazing.

I think you're right, actually... Thanks for the correction. When you look at the photo I took of the back of the console facing the rear passengers (with the air vents, two USB ports, and the two buttons for the seats), the icons on both buttons look like they're for heat only. Sorry about that.

The event was excellent. They had cars lined up in a row -- an '18 (for a "that was then and this is now" comparison, I guess...lol), a '19 Performance Red Pearl Tech, a '19 Blue Apex A-Spec, and a '19 Majestic Black Pearl Advance.
One of the owners welcomed everyone and gave a lot of information about what you get for being a customer with them (for one, free unlimited car washes for as long as you own the car!), the number of allocations they will be getting, etc. He was followed by 4 gentlemen who each explained, the exterior and interior design of the car, the luxurious appointments throughout, its technology, and its technical/mechanical aspects. Everyone was then encouraged to "crawl around" the cars (the owner's words) to scrutinize as much as we wanted and ask questions to the many employees who were around for customers to interact with.
And the food....well, a picture (below) is worth a thousand words. LOL
Very classy and well done.

Far cry from my local dealer who took away a loaner when I got my car inspected. I questioned it and they told me it was getting too expensive for them. I get all my service done there and always got a loaner for the day while getting my car inspected since I can't wait. It was a nice way of testing out newer models. This is a different dealer than the one who offered to drive a new RDX to my office.

I see. Yeah, this one has free loaners if whatever you're there for will take 2 or more hours. Once, they gave me an MDX (very nice car!). On the car wash, they even have a car wash cam so that you can see if it's open or how busy it is before you head out. The only time it closes is if it's below 40 degrees out, basically.

Nice! Thanks for the pictures. Nice to see the Red up close. I ordered it sight unseen. Now my wife is happy because she likes your pictures!!

So what is this red color below? This looks different from the Performance Red I've seen online and in person. This looks like a very bright, flat red. Am I seeing things?
Which looks different than this red here, which looks a bit more maroon/pearl.

I don't know if it's the lighting, but agree the Performance Red Pearl I saw last night looks different than the red in the photos you posted (which, like you said, look somewhat flat, and I'll add, muted). I'm going to say the "s" word again, but, to me, "stunning" is an apt description.

You're welcome, and thanks! I know the 15th sounds so far away, but it will be well worth the wait. Hang in there, Canada!

I drove an A-Spec and an Advance back-to-back. The A-Spec seats were great, but as soon as I sat down in the Advance and adjusted it, I was even more impressed (the side bolsters more so than the thigh extensions, which could be longer IMHO). They're extremely comfortable and supportive seats.

What they did with the Advance’s seats is a remarkable achievement...probably one of my favorites things about the car.

On my Advance, I will say there's a noticeably wide range of behavior between Comfort and Sport+. The mapping for throttle, suspension, steering, and transmission all seem noticeably tighter/more aggressive. Yet hitting mid-corner bumps or imperfections does not seem to upset the chassis. Even if I did have the A-Spec on-hand, unless you had a reasonably long test drive with some challenging roads, it would likely be hard to discern the difference.
