Weather Tech In Channel Window Vents

Just called Weather Tech to see if they had a release date for the in channel window vents. The customer service representative said they are not making any for the 3-Gen RDX due to the technology used in in the window systems to prevent injury. It doesn’t allow the vents to fit properly and allow the tech to operate properly. Well that sucks and they don’t make the ones that stick on either. I call BS on that one. My Murano had the same safety feature for the windows and I was able to buy a set from them and my windows worked flawlessly evertime. The search continues.

What is this "technology" of which they speak? Auto-reverse? What car with power windows hasn't had it for like 40 years? Pretty sure it's been a law for at least that long.

I installed WeatherTech vent visors on my last two cars, front and back, and of course they had auto-reverse power windows.

When I installed them initially, the windows made a rather alarming pop or crack and reversed the first time I went to close them. Then, the second time I raised the windows, they closed and the visor seated in the channel.

One problem I do see on the RDX is the shape of the second row windows. The back edge can't have any coverage when it's open even slightly.

Your right about the back edge of the rear window.

It appears that WeatherTech has never made window visors for previous generations of the RDX. Maybe the sales volume doesn't justify them.

I would assume this. Also, with the rear window the way it is, it's likely not going to work.

weather tech did not make them for the gen 2 either; 2014 rdx. i tried another brand that installed on the outside of window. after about 9 months the chrome looking plastic inserts began to get multiple internal cracks on all 4 vents. through it did not effect it functionally, they looked crappy & could not be fixed.
