Video of my chrome delete using vinyl wrap

Thought I'd share a video of the chrome delete on my 2019 black RDX. I love the look so much better now but as you can see in the video, some of the chrome is already starting to show through. The guys that installed it said that the window trim area was difficult as there wasn't too much room for extra wrap to "wrap" around if that makes sense. They had to do a precise cut in that area and unfortunately some of the chrome is starting to show now.

If interested, I also posted a video on hardwiring my dash cam to the fusebox on the "audio, bluetooth, electronics & navigation" forum.

If you could do it over again, would instead just buy the seperate ASPEC parts have them installed?

I'm really on the fence with wrapping my Advanced because of the reason you're experiencing with your wrap. But it looks great still nonetheless.

I opted to plastidip mine. It has been a learning experience, since this is the first time i've ever plastidipped anything. My first attempts came out pretty bad. But it's getting better as i keep trying. The pros are that it's pretty low risk, since you can just peel it off if you don't like it, and it's pretty cheap, and you can do it yourself.
if you get the method down, it actually looks pretty good.

I actually like the chrome with the black grill and I don't mind the chrome around the windows. But I was thinking of wrapping only the door flourishes. I think just that would go a long way to improving the overall look of my White Diamond Pearl Advance. Those big chrome pieces always get water spots and they look kinda cheesy.

But if I do it, I'd want to do it in carbon fiber and I've never done it before. There's plenty of edge on those pieces to wrap over, so I don't think that's a problem. What I'm concerned about is getting the patterns to align on the two pieces. I'd have to get it absolutely perfect, as if it's one single piece. Just a hair off and it would look awful. Having never done it before, I don't know how hard or easy the vinyl is to manipulate and finesse.

That's a tough question to answer. I think I still would have gone the vinyl wrap route given the large price difference. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable enough to try and replace all the parts myself which means I'd have to pay a decent amount for labor/parts going the A-spec route. While it's disappointing to see some of the chrome show through already, I really like the current look much better and depending on how long it lasts (assuming the wrap doesn't continue to shrink), I might just wrap it again in a couple of years but maybe try and do it myself next time. I also might go the plastidip route.

I'm with you. I don't mind the chrome anywhere on the car except for the door pieces. They are God awful. It's my wife's car and I told her I wanted to either wrap them or Plastidip them. But of course she likes the chrome...ugh...the woman has no sense of style :-).

I like the chrome, for the most part. I could do without the big chrome logo on the grill.

The black A-Spec trim looks cheap to me. I have considered doing the trim in some other color, but my wife forbids it.
