Test drove Advanced this evening

Dealer in CA received about 10 2019s today, and got to test drive the Advanced. Very nice vehicle, drove nicely, decent power and transmission is great. Noticeable differences with adjustable suspension. Sound system is great! Will be my first crossover if I end of buying one.

In Sacramento. No worries, I think all the info about the car is out there, and I’m not a pro reviewer 😉. Someone was buying one of the 19s when I was there.

Which location, Roseville? I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Correct Roseville. Great test drive, decent amount of freeway and back roads to get a good idea of the car. Sales guy was very excited about the vehicle, but I knew more about it than he did 😉

I never test drove the previous gen, but it sounded very quiet to me... and turned off music and fan at one point to check.

Im coming from a 335D, so slower than that of course, but I thought it was beyond decent for the type of vehicle, but Im not that familiar with crossovers in general. The transmission felt really good too. Definitely could feel a diffs in Sport+, noticeably tighter suspension and steering, and quicker throttle/transmission response.

Went to Niello on Thursday to check it out and knew much more about the vehicle than their sales guys too lol
Then again it was the same way when I bought my TLX from Elk Grove Acura

It seems like most sales people do not know much about the vehicles they sell, especially new ones. I used to be surprised about that, but now expect it.

Concur with @SA-AC. I'm coming from a 340i XDrive, which BMW rates at 320hp but several third-party dyno runs have suggested is much closer to 380hp (stock). The RDX 2.0 obviously isn't that fast, but I'd wager good money that their 272hp/280tq figures are underrated as well. It runs strong and offers a broad torque plateau, and the 10-speed auto (which C&D curiously took issue with) is actually well-paired to the engine, in my opinion.

And yes, Sport+ offers a noticeably more aggressive throttle/transmission/suspension mapping vs ECO.

I drove an Advance today and took readings. My 2G Advance is 72dB at 80 mph. The '19 Advance on the same road with the same (lack of) wind was 70dB. Not noticeable to me, but my hearing may not be the greatest, either. In any case, it's an improvement.

My first drive in the '19 Advance was also the sales person's first drive in one.

I'm not sure what tighter suspension means. Coming out of the Comfort mode, the lateral directional stability went way down. The rear end got loose, and it felt like something had fallen out until above 40 or 50 mph when things settled down again. I suppose some people are going to like this, but it takes more attention to stay in a lane.

My local Acura dealer had eight on the lot. Test drove a white with the espresso interior advance. The espresso was nice but a little too dark for my taste. I would get the parchment. Can not stress enough you need to test drive one. Pics and reviews do not do it justice. It is about the drive. It is just fun to drive. It handles great, quiet and has plenty of pep all in the comfort mode. Had to accelerate rapidly to merge on the interstate and has the power. The panoramic roof is a winner. Drove it at 11 am on a hot day with the shade wide open. No heat and was not overly bright. Must be tinted for heat reduction much more than our Lexus's. Got home at noon and we went out and slid the shade back in my Lexus ES and was overwhelmed with the heat and brightness and shut it immediately. Salesman during the drive said make a u-turn here which I did. Turning radius is incredible. I am 6:4 and had plenty of head and leg room. Alex on Auto in his review stated about the only negative was rear headroom. I sat in the back. Had to move the seat up but had plenty of headroom in the back. Acura hit a 575 foot home run. My only concern is gas mileage. I had 12 miles on trip A which I put 8 on. Half were on the highway. MPG registered 10 mpg. Really want to hear what others are getting!!!
