Steering Wheel/Column Creaking
Steering Wheel/Column Creaking
Picked up a 19 RDX AWD Tech a couple of months ago. From the very start, there has been a "creaking" sound coming from the steering wheel/column. It sounds like the plastic is rubbing up against each other and happens randomly (hot or cold) and consistently during drives. Anyone else experience this?
Yup. In the summer months when the car gets really hot all the cheap faux metal pieces on the front of my steering wheel loosen up and creak when I'm driving. Eventually goes away after the A/C is on for a while and they cool down. But still annoying, especially since it's right in my lap when driving.
Maybe I've gotten used to it, but I don't notice it that much anymore. Maybe the plastic pieces just ground each other down, lol. It happened to me starting in late spring when it was still fairly cool and happened on warm days too.
We just bought a 2020 RDX and have the exact same problem that you all described. EVERY time i drive it, there is this creaking from the plastics on the controls area of the steering wheel. Anybody find a fix by possibly taking wheel apart or putting paper or something between plastic pieces so they don't rub?
Just curious... Thanks.
