Spoiler - dynamic IDS graphics
Looks like we will get dynamic/animated IDS graphics in future update, similar to those on TLX.
(Source: Chinese RDX A-Spec that was launched last month already have the animations.)

Hmm ...I wonder what else the next OTA update will provide. I'm guessing just stability stuff at this point.

Of course, nothing is more important than snazzy graphics. (/so_much_sarcasm_I_wanna_puke)

All I really want is for the center display to stay in Minimal or Navigation from one ride to the next. And for Minimal to note have a big Minimal at the top.
Okay, that's not all I really want but if I got into everything, it would be a total threadjack.

But they also said they did some kind of update to the MID. I didn't pay it much attention when the gal mentioned it but there are a few minor differences. First thing I noticed was the sport gauges were off (default) so I restored them. Also, the real-time MPG bar is different. It's shorter and the info is now to the left of it. I'm pretty sure it used to be the width of the entire display.
And last but not least, the display retains the selection from trip to trip. It used to always default to the trip computer and I would usually change it to the SH-AWD display. Now, it stays on whatever I set it.
Anybody else notice this?

I had mine in for service a few weeks ago and I don't think they changed anything.
I think it has always retained the SH-AWD display setting, it's just the Minimal and Navigation that default to Trip.
Is there any way to check the version number of the software that controls the car (not the head unit)?

Mine was just in for routine service and nothing was changed. Of course I didn't have any issues so maybe they just leave well enough alone. I did do the last OTA update (just before before the hack of Acura) and that went in without a problem on my RDX.

Maybe you can check the firmware versions of the individual units using the diagnostic menu but I wouldn't know what the latest is anyway. And it may depend on the hardware / serial number of each unit. There could be multiple configurations, even within each model year. And that could be why OTA updates don't go smoothly for everyone. It's called configuration control. The software has to account for every possible combination and handle any conflicts.
It's not just Acura. I hear that one of the most common complaints in new cars is infotainment systems and problems with OTA updates. Usually, shit that breaks afterward.
