A-Spec vs Advanced

Since I will be new to Acura, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if the A-Spec has all the features of the Advance, plus the sports stuff like black headliner, special badges, bigger wheels, and red interior etc, or does it offer those things without including all the luxury that the advance has. When i had my Lexus NX, I had the sport, but it didn't offer as many of the top luxury items that the top of the line did. Thanks for any help....may be too soon to answer, but since Acura has an A-Spec out in other models, I was curious the difference.

Great question. I am also curious about this? May have to change my pre-order from A-Spec to advanced/elite if I find out the A-spec lacks a number of features in comparison! With that said, my selling agent told me you could get the A-spec with the advanced/elite package so I'm hoping that means it has everything the non A-spec elite/advanced would have. If i'm not mistaken, that is also how the current TLX offers the A-spec now.

If it's anything like the previous A-SPEC packages, it will slot between the Tech and Advance in the US market so it will miss some features on the top end trim. Canada on the other hand can get A-SPEC on top of both the Tech and Elite (Advance) trims.

This is what i've been told. Hope its true! I'd be pissed if my A-spec didnt come with some tech features. Would likely go for an advanced in that scenario since tech is very important to me!

Based on the pics taken at the various auto shows, The A-Spec had ventilated seats but not the 360 camera button on the wiper stock and no HUD.

Bummer ! I was afraid they would water down some things.......that's the way the Lexus NX was with the sport model. I wish they would offer the red seats for the Advanced model

Yea, I wish A-Spec should just be an appearance package instead of a separate model but i guess it sales better.

Yes...TECH is extremely important to me, too. That's why I got the Advance when I got my '17. That will be a deciding factor for me as to which model I would buy.

Looking to do the chrome delete all myself. Anyone have links to instructions on how to remove the all the chrome trimmings? I'd like to take them off to chrome delete to have a cleaner look.

The A-Spec is mostly a "cosmentic" package. Red trim seats, red interior lighting, body trim, badging, etc. The only real functional thing is the better audio system. The A-Spec is the "sporty" version.

The Advance has the adaptive dampers, heated and ventilated seats, HUD, heated steering wheel, and the same audio system. Just not the cosmetics of the A-Spec. The Advance is the "luxury" version but it has all the performance features of the A-Spec, plus adaptive damper suspension. It's $1900 more than the A-Spec.

Go to Acura and do a build. It lists all the items in the trim packages.

What's the difference between aspec and advanced when it comes to ride quality and feel? And what are adaptive dampers, what do they do?

Does this cause a different ride feel in the advanced vs the aspec RDX?

Yes that's exactly what it doss. This is exactly why folks feel adaptive damper should have been on the "sportier" apec. Cause there is nothing sporty about them except for looks

I really scratch my head on some of these product decisions made at Acura.

Which gives a more comfortable ride? Aspec or advanced?

Also, do all of them have all the same driving modes? I test drove a Tech Package and it had Snow, Comfort, Sport and Sport +. The test drive was brief and I could tell a difference between them but I didn't really have the time to wring it out.

do you mean over bumps? I don't think we know how the adaptive dampers are actually tuned, meaning are they actually tuned softer than regular dampers when needed? But we do know the suspension does stiff up more than the regular.

I find that stiffer suspension over long smoother highway drive to be more comfortable than spongy soft suspension, not everyone would agree to that.

Does the adaptive system change the ride feel automatically or does the driver have to change a setting manually?

I chose the A-Spec because I think it looks the best. The A-Spec is an appearance package and the driving dynamics is no different than the base. There is some manufactured engine noise to give it a sporty sound. The tech in the A-Spec is good enough for me. I think the wheels on the Advanced are horrid. I like the black matted finishes/trims and the 20 inch wheels. Pretty nice looking sporty car stock without having to modify or add accessories. I tinted the front windows and will add splash guards. I bought all season mats. Other than that I will drive stock. I am relatively young (40) and wanted a vehicle that was not too soccer dad/mom.

I looked into the A-Spec. I hated the red gauges, and with its missing HUD and heated rear seats along with the Active Dampener System and Acoustic side glass, rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming side mirrors, heated steering wheel, wooden trim, surround view camera, and the 16 way power seats NOT on the A-spec (A-spec only has 12 way power seats), it was an easy choice for me. I understand that the wheels may not be the best looking, but you can always purchase different set of OEM wheels.

In fact, you can pretty much take an Advanced model, and make it look like the A-Spec model on the outside. It's just as simple as a couple bolt on parts. The only thing you'll be missing is the seats and the red gauges in the A-Spec, but Advanced model to me has more comfortable seats.

If people want a true comparison, here it is:
https://hondanews.com/releases/2019-acura-rdx-press-kit

Scroll through, and it'll show the differences between A-Spec and Advanced.

I'll be replacing the two lower front duct pieces with A-SPEC trim for my 2020 Advanced model.

I have fog lights in my Advanced and I just want to make sure these are the right parts:
Front Bumper parts:

Garnish Right = 71104-TJB-A50
Garnish Left = 71109-TJB-A50
Inlet Grill Right = 71103-TJB-A50
Inlet Grill Left = 71108-TJB-A50
Duct Right = 71112-TJB-A50
Duct Left = 71117-TJB-A50

Am I missing anything here? I ask because when looking at some of the parts, I can see how my fog lights will fit with them.

Thanks

It won't let me edit my post for some reason, but I mean to say that I can't* see how my fog lights will fit with the Inlet Grill Right and Left parts.

Is there another part I need?
