She's Gone!
Well everyone, my time with the RDX has come to an end. She got traded in for a sports car which is really what my wife wanted when we purchased the RDX but she thought she was being "practical" by getting the RDX. I got $37,000 for the FWD Advance Loaded which I thought was very fair and on the high side from my research. The RDX had 13,360 miles on her. The RDX was a solid vehicle but I was not overly happy with the Infotainment system and the rear camera is very "washed" out and could use far better resolution.
I hope that you all enjoy your vehicles and that you all remain safe. It was a pleasure being a member of this forum and, if things get better at Acura, I may return for the right vehicle. God Bless you all and enjoy your weekend!

Good luck and thanks for getting me hooked up with your dealer. We got 8k on ours so far, still not liking that AA isn't out on it yet. That's my only gripe really so far, but if toyota get AA on their vehicles before acura gets theirs implemented then I may jump ship too.

Man I feel like the Q50 is SUPER underrated. It's honestly incredibly sexy and very very attractive. If I was looking for a sports sedan it would be my number one choice, especially in that color WOW.

The greater aspect of the trade, and every state handles this differently, is that when you trade into a dealer in FL that you also purchase a car from, you get credit for the taxes paid. Therefore, by trading in the RDX for the Infiniti at the dealer I bought the Infiniti from, my taxable liability was reduced by $2405. Therefore, you can argue that I really got back $39,405 on my RDX. If I sold it Private Party, I lose the tax credit and I never would have gotten $39,405 via a third-party sale.
When I lived in VA for 10 years, you get ZERO tax credit on your trade and pay full taxes on the amount of the new/used car.
CarFax, TrueCar, NADA, and several other "sites" stated that I could get around $35,500 for my RDX. After visiting a dealer or two they were coming in at $36K. The more I shopped, I then found three willing to go to $37K based on the condition and mileage. In the end, I am very happy with trade amount.

Aside from the popular misconception that a "sports car" must be a two seater, the Infinity checks most blocks of a "sports car"

Carvana was great to deal with...I never did anything like this before and was thinking about a new car for my wife who loves the Q50. Went on their app and, in my search, this RED Q50 RS with 811 miles popped up. I read that you can reserve it for 24 hours to decide if you really want it and thought...what the he**...7-day money back guarantee and you can drive it up to 400 miles and then just give it back if you don't like it and all you're out is $5 for a 30-day temp tag. They also ship the car for free...this one came from California. CarMax, I believe, charges $349 to ship a car and it's non-refundable.
People on the phone were great...pick-up experience was great and all the paperwork is done via DocuSign on-line to make it super easy and zero stress. This car was an Infiniti owned Executive car and they get rid of their cars every 2-4 months. Carvana got this one and, since it was never register by a person and owned by Infiniti, I got a great deal and a great warranty!
If you can find what you are looking for at Carvana...I HIGHLY recommend.

Hey SecurityGuy. Best of luck with the Q50. I always thought that was a sharp looking car, and in red with the carbon it sure looks sweet.
Thanks so much for the help and advice in getting my Blackview installed in my RDX, fore and aft. It's been a great addition to the car.
Safe driving and watch out for those idiots who enjoy dinging doors of nice looking cars!

I get that it's basically free to return the first week, but still... It seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through if you end up not liking the car.

Only concern is how do you test drive? No matter what, I want to actually see the car in person and drive it, just to see if it works for me ergonomically.

1. You are able to test drive it when you first arrive before you decide to keep it the 7-days
2. I was given a good 30 minutes to look over every inch of the car for damage, etc.
3. THEN, if you like what you see and drove, you take it for a 7-day test drive
4. If you don't like what you see when you get there or didn't like your immediate test drive, you shake hands and walk away and they relist it on their website
Now the smart thing to do is what I did...go to a local dealer that has the car you want, like my local Infiniti dealer, and take a new one out. Sit in it...see if you like how it drives, etc. before you order the Carvana. My wife drove their 2019 Q50 RS first car
ZERO trouble at all and a great experience. Make more sense now?

Nah, I don't think the issues would necessarily qualify, they don't keep me from driving the vehicle. It's mostly the crappy infotainment system and the jerky, stalling transmission and just the overall feeling this isn't a true luxury vehicle.
#31
An issue doesn't have to keep you from driving the car. While squeaks and rattles generally don't qualify, a system that doesn't work as advertised will adversely affect the use of the car and does qualify.
What does the dealer say about the issues?

Given the class action on the infotainmentsystem and the integration between that and the rest of the systems, a decent lemon lawyer can make a case. A jerky, stalling transmission is just icing on the cake.

Nice car! I was looking at the Kia Telluride to trade in my RDX but I realized that I did not need the space. Now I am back to square one. I am just taking my time this time to find the right automobile. But for what it's worth the Kia Stinger is at the top of my list so far.

If a manufacturer buys the car back, then the manufacturer pays the lawyer.
If the settlement is that the manufacturer throws some money at you to make you go away, then the attorney will take a portion of the settlement (usually 30% -40%) but in virtually all cases, you'll walk away with more money that if you settled by yourself.
Find a lawyer doing business in your state who is familiar with Honda/Acura (meaning that they have contacts in the legal office)
Call the lawyer and lay out your case. Once they've listened, they'll decide if they think that you have a case (Lemon or otherwise). If they agree, then that means that they think they have a decent shot at a resolution.

Well, when we're done arguing over what constitutes a "sports car", we can move on to "luxury vehicle".
By most definitions, I think a certain amount of self-indulgent financial impropriety is in order. If you can get an employer and/or taxpayers to help finance it, that's a bonus. If you're stuck with paying for it yourself, I think a "value-oriented upscale" vehicle such as an Acura or Infiniti is a reasonable choice. YMMV
To OP, I think I remember a "friendly contest" years ago where Comedians showed up with "their wife's car". I think Jay Leno's wife drove a Shelby Cobra at the time...

I remembered when you first go on the board and the excitement you shared with your newly purchased RDX, thanks for that.

Lemon lawyers don't cost you anything - at least not upfront.

I filed a lemon case with my 335 after I got my 4th fuel pump and had driven a Mini for a month. This was before everybody knew about the issues with these cars and a lemon case would have bee a long case. The lawyer gave me two options - go forward with the lemon case or get a monetary settlement from BMW fairly quickly. BMW threw enough money at me that (after the atty took their cut), I could trade the car in without taking a significant hit. I had a check a week later.
A colleague had a Buick that was way out of lemon law territory. He had a niggling infotainment issue. He spoke with a lemon lawyer and - long story short - ended up with a couple of grand in his pocket.
