Sales
I drove from Wellesley MA to SC, spent a week driving around the upstate SC and western NC, and then drove back to MA. I saw no 2019 RDXs during that span and have not seen any on the road at home in MA before or after my trip.
How are sales of the new model going?

Latest sales numbers from Acura indicate about 5,000 '19 RDX sales so far. With about 248 million cars and light trucks in the US if all 5,000 are in the US that's 1 out of every 50,000 vehicles would be a '19 RDX - not exactly as thick as ants at a picnic.

Not too many even available for sale in the Pittsburgh, PA area. We picked up our new 2019 White A-spec last night. The dealer was only getting a few more in the next month or so. The special order wait is 6+ weeks.

Still haven't seen one in the wild in NJ.
Every time I think I've spotted the grille shape, it turns out to be a 17/18 MDX.
Odd considering I have 10 Acura dealers within a 30 mile radius.

I'm wondering if the price point (it seems to be about 15% more expensive) has pushed buyers to alternatives. I've seen a lot of new Mazda's on the road.

The CX-9 is beautiful and has a gorgeous interior but, is in a much larger class.
The CX-7 was never successful for some reason.
I know they're selling a lot of RDXs in this region (NYC Metro) but, I never see them. That's what surprises me.

The CX-5 is truly beautiful but, too small and under-powered vs the RDX. The 6-speed trans is also outdated.

I have only seen one A-SPEC blue in town so far. We are spaced out so far it may be a while before I see more start popping up. I see 2GEN RDX everywhere. It wont be long before I see the new one far more often. everywhere also.

That’s a long way! Did you pay attention to your highway MPG by chance? Any idea what kind if range you got between fill ups?

I have 2016 RDX Advance with about 15,000 miles.
I averaged only about 28.5 mpg when no congestion on the highway but I was driving 80 mph for long stretches on I-95 and the NJ Turnpike (America's autobahn). The weekend afternoon congestion on the DC beltway and in MD/DE killed mpg in those areas.
On shorter trips driving at lower speeds (e.g., 65 mph), I routinely can get 32-33 mpg.
Gas breaks are usually included when the dogs are telling me they need to take a bathroom break or the wife and I are hungry. So, tank not always near empty.

I spotted another one tonight...I think. I was cruising in the middle lane around 1130pm on an empty highway here in SC. I had cruise control set at 72 mph (65 mph speed limit) when I seen an unfamiliar set of jewel eyes headlight approach me at a high rate of speed. My first thought was NSX, but as it flew past me, I could tell that it was obviously a SUV. I have a dash cam so I may attach some screen shots from the footage. My guess the driver was doing 100+ mph.

Good question and good point. I'm really only going to see those cars around me (those driving next to me, those I pass, those that pass me); on those interstates and at those speeds, I'm not looking at oncoming cars on the other side of the median/divider. So, I probably saw 5,000? The numbers of cars seen bunched at toll plazas or in service center parking lots may push that number a little higher.

Taking into account that a short glimpse of a car might not really give you enough time for full recognition, at least the current RDX looks different from the prior one, but, head on, with little time, and dark colors, it looks a lot like the current MDX

Was driving a couple of hours from my house to Wilmington, NC last month to purchase my TLX from the Acura dealer there and rode along side a '19 RDX for a good ways. It had a Pennsylvania tag on it and a female driver. She was driving it quite aggressively.

Saw my second RDX advance today. He had just picked it up form John Eagle Acura and we were driving on N.Eldridge Parkway in the reservoir. Looks as though he had just taken delivery of it. It appeared to be Majestic Black/Ebony interior . I wasn't sure if it was an Advance but looked that way. Man did it look good against my dirty RDX. I am going to go wash my car now

But, Tony PAC, still VERY comfortable (we’re talking backseats, right?), and with an added feature of having USB ports and heated (at least on the Advance model).
Backseat comfort was on our check off list...Audi, like riding on a park bench. I found the MB a little better than the Audi and the bimmer (X3) a close tie with the MB...but neither one quite as comfortable as the RDX...and, none of the others (at least unless you were willing to cough up big bucks) with “heated” back seats. TaDa!
She’s awesome, and I have’t seen any others on the road yet (Central Tx area - Austin / and burbs (Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park). It’s early in the game. Some of y’all know...we were gonna wait, but really happy we went ahead and jumped on board.

Just saw the 1st one in the greater Toronto Area. I did not notice it until I passed it on the highway. I agree the back-end is not stunning, and a little underwhelming. Rest of he car is amzing.

We didn’t see any 2019s on our trip, but I saw one locally about a week ago.

I sat having breakfast and drinking coffee on the Northbound side of a very busy highway (NJ SR 17) for about an hour this morning trying to spot a Gen 3 RDX.
No luck but, I did see a 2019 Q3 in full camo which is odd considering that Autoblog already ran undisguised pictures.
Even saw a couple of Stelvios, F-Paces, Macans, Velars, and a bunch of Model Xs. There's a Tesla store right there so there are a lot of them coming and going.
I sat for another hour at lunchtime on the Southbound side. Still no RDX. Been doing this every Saturday since the beginning of June.
God, what a loser I've become.
Finally, on the way home, I spotted a Fathom Blue Pearl SH-AWD Tech on a local street (Farview Avenue in Paramus).
They very first one besides my own that I've seen outside a dealer lot.

You gotta stop hanging out on 17, especially South of Paramus. You get into the Rutherfords, and it gets nasty.
I have not yet seen one in the wild up here in Northern Westchester. Every time I think I have a candidate, it lacks that special something that tells me it is a current RDX.

In the RDX's defence, what SUV/SUV/wagon looks goo from the rear?
I do however agree that the tail lights look a bit "Honda" and very similar to the new Accord. The fat exhaust tips and wide stance make up for it though.

I’ve only seen 4 on the road. One Majestic Black Pearl/Red A-Spec, a Fathom Blue Pearl (I actually saw 2 within 30 min, but it was within my same area so I’m assuming it was the same car), a silver one and an advance White Diamond Pearl which I’m assuming was a dealer trade as it was on the freeway leaving town, but still had all the stickers on the window and no registration slip.
I followed the white RDX for about 50 miles- the back was extremely boring. I think it was the combination of the white paint and the chrome piece in the taillights. Not enough contrast so everything just blends in.
