I entered my VIN on the Acura Owners site and the NHTSA site and neither said that my RDX had an open recall. My RDX was built in the range specified on the NHTSA site. I called my service department and they entered my VIN into their computer system and confirmed my RDX had an open recall for the fuel pump. My dealer ordered the part today and will call me when the part comes in to schedule an appointment.

Dealer has ordered the part and will be in soon for me. I have an A-Spec made in Sept 2018. Here is the official Honda recall list

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...0V314-8555.PDF

states it’s all RDXs from May 21, 2018 to feb 12, 2019.

even includes the NSX and many other Honda models. This is also affecting Subaru, Lexus, and toyota, and a few more.

if yours is in the date range call and make an a appointment. Built date should be on the sticker in your door.

Got the recall notice about two hour ago via my AcuraLink app. Called dealer, they ordered the part(s) and have an appointment tomorrow for my 2019 RDX.

Sounds to me they really ramped up this recall. I plan on driving from NY down to SC for a friend's B-day week this year and this recall is timely. It'll be the longest trip taken so far.

Regards to all ---------------------

Took my 2019 AWD Tech in Monday for an oil change and they called me and told me about it. They’re doing it Monday. Never had a single issue with the car until this, besides some random glitches now and then with infotainment.

It feels like they are getting into this with the appropriate speed. Since they have known about this since early last year, I would hope they'd be ready when the recall was announced.

Denso improperly manufactured the impeller in pumps during the recall period. this applies not only to Honda/Acura, but also Toyota/Lexus that are also currently recalled. Expect the same for Subie, Nissan and Mazda in the future.

And Toyota, at least, has class actions against them related specifically to this problem. I'm not aware of any against Honda for this.

But don’t they have to issue a recall when they know there’s a safety issue, not just when they have a fix? I mean, I drove around with a grenade in my steering wheel for months before they were finally able to replace it....

Well, when you put it that way, it doesn't actually seem like appropriate speed anymore.

And it does go to the heart of the class action against Toyota. The claim is that they knew about the issue with the fuel pump and continued to sell cars with a defect. It's a good point they make, depending on their timeline.

Not a big distinction between that and ignoring a defect until forced to repair.

Dropped my car off at 11:00, had it done by 3, and I highly doubt they spent they whole time on it, they were a very busy dealership. I literally called them yesterday, and they had the part in today and got me right in, worked great.

Didn't they tell you to stop driving the vehicle?

Yes I believe that was the recommendation for me and the other 41.6 million other car owners...

My point of course is that it seemed at the time that they must have been required to tell people about the safety issue, and perhaps from a liability perspective tell them not to drive their cars until they were fixed, no matter how unrealistic that was. Seems that it would be the same for this recall since, though for now there have been no reported injuries, the possibility exists.

How long does the job take?

I am not happy with the dealer I bought the car from, and I am downsizing and moving about a half hour away, in the opposite direction. So, I might have to sit and wait for it. I don’t know if they give loaners.

Does anyone know how long it takes?

Unfortunately, how long the job takes is often only a portion of the wait time. In my experience.

I got the notification for my 2019 Advance. They stated they can't order the part until I come in. No problem for me - they are giving me a loaner for 2 days while they fix it. BTW, Acura of Omaha is awesome! They have services all of my Acuras since 2004, and I've never had anything but phenomenal service.

Can't delete recall notification in AcuraLink app.

Now that I've had the service done, I'd like to know how to get rid of the notification in the AcuraLink app. Short of turning off notifications I can't see how to do it; all the other in-app notifications could be dismissed with a left-swipe.

I got the AcuraLink notification last Thursday and scheduled a service call. Took it in today (Monday) and took about 1.5 hours to replace fuel pump. Everything seems to work fine. But now my AcuraLink no longer works. Vehicle doesn't show up on my AcuraLink account. Will have to call support tomorrow. Anyone have the same issue or is it unrelated?

Maybe they did a reset.

See if Systems, Advanced Options, Location Access is enabled.

That might be it.

Looks like a system wide outage according to the website.

It has to be a result of the ransomware attack. That began on Sunday so timeline fits. Servers are down so that would do it, unfortunately.

They didn't seem to have any problem processing my payment for the Remote Package when I re-upped yesterday. They do seem to have had some problem turning the features on, however....

Honda operations are disrupted in a suspected cyber attack. (or maybe they tried to do an OTA update on their own systems?)

Good point. I can see how that could go badly for them. But I'm sure it won't be more than a few months before they get it resolved.

Was the payment routed to Sudan or Malaysia by any chance?

I had mine done today and I was wondering if the inside of your cab smells like gas. Not sure if they spilled gas but smells strong. I had to leave windows open. I think they get to the fuel pump from the inside of the cab.

If the smell persists, take it back. If they didn't get the opening in the fuel tank sealed up that could be bad. And yes, that's under the rear seat.
