RDX IIHS ratings falling
RDX IIHS ratings falling
Why are the RDX's IIHS ratings falling?
2023 it was TSP+ (and all earlier models going all the way back to 2019)

2024 it was TSP

It’s because the standard gets updated. The new requirement for TSP is to have at least an Acceptable rating on the updated moderate overlap frontal test. However, the RDX hasn’t been retested on that test, so it’s impossible for it to earn the TSP rating. Same reason why the vaunted Volvo XC60 doesn’t have a TSP rating. The IIHS prioritizes tests for new cars, and both it and the RDX hasn’t seen a new generation for many years. It doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t do well on the test if they did get retested (in fact, Volvo has shown even their 10 year old designs can ace new tests).
