Price Increase
Has anyone else seen this? I checked the Acura web site for the vehicle that I ordered and indeed it shows an $800 increase.
“The cost of buying a new Acura has just gone up. Almost all of the brand’s luxury cars are $ 800 higher, according to breaking news sent to dealers on Tuesday. This increase will affect the three models in the brand’s 2022 lineup, ILX, RDX, and MDX. Let’s take a quick look at the changes that appear in January. Acura ILX -Suggested retail price increased by $ 800 from $ 27,545 Up to $ 28,345 Includes destination charges of $ 1,045.
Acura RDX – now From $ 41,145, $ 40,345 to $ 800 price increase.
Acura MDX -Basic suggested retail price Now $ 49,045, $ 800 more than the previous price of $ 48,245.”

I better get the price listed on what I signed. I believe the only thing it says is that my trade-in is subject to reappraisal. And my current vehicle is actually worth more now than it was when I ordered the RDX the first part of November.

Well the pricing for the RDX is getting out of hand. They will never roll that back. I paid MSRP in November and was balking at that thought. Once the market corrects (Whenever) I will be looking for a ($5800 discount on any new one.). Otherwise I am going to have to look for some other vehicle for my daily driver.

I could have purchased a 4 Cylinder GV70 for the current RDX money. For $63K I can get the 6 Cylinder fully loaded GV70 with far more options. I may be looking at the GV70 for my next SUV. Also Genesis is starting to have independent dealerships this year so I can deal with that as opposed to the low end Hyundai dealers. Double take on a price increase makes me unhappy.

It will correct and we will be buying bellow MSRP again. However, MSRP will be increased to keep up with demand and inflation. Acura normally comes up with MSRP knowing ahead of time it will be sold at a discount. Currently, times are not normal and dealers are price gauging due to limited supply and high demand. Wait till roaring 20s are over and unemployment is high

I have predicting this for a while. Many folks have been saying "I'll wait to buy until when supply is fixed and car prices drop to sane levels", but that's not going to happen. Instead the MSRP will be moving up. This is just a start. Expect shortages and prices increases with everything.

After all this is a 4 year old model with minor but worthwhile updates. No mild hybrid, full hybrid or plug in hybrid is a big down fall. Just about every other competitor has a combination of ICE and hybrid and some coming with full electric this year.
The only manufacturer that is in the same boat with Acura is Infiniti. Not something to bragg about. The other is Mazda, but they the move of the century but getting in bed with Toyota for their hybrid and electric solutions. Very smart in my opinion.

The market will settle eventually but this is the new normal. All manufacturers need to do going forward is adjust the inventory so that MSRP take it or leave it will be the new way of doing business. They are all seeing major profits right now and won't want to give that up when things settle down. Add in the move to hybrid and EV and an assortment of other things and the way we did business prior to the pandemic is long gone.

Yes, that is true but that is for the 6 Cylinder. You get so much more in the GV70 than the RDX ASPEC/ADVANCE. If Acura pushes the prices and the discount isn't heavy when thing correct, I will be moving to something non Acura.

This is the issue I am seeing and Acura was the you get a lot for the money and yes you had to make a few compromises but it was a good value type of brand. But at these prices no way is it worth it.

Less than $50K for an ASPEC/ADVANCE should have been the price. The bump puts me into a different type of daily driver and while I can get a new 4 Cylinder GV70 fully loaded for $53750. I think I am willing to take the risk on the GV70 based on their warranty. I think I may be tiring of Acura and the BS they are pushing, I am sure I can get nearly all I have paid for my 2022 RDX ASPEC/Advance, which may allow me to see if the GV70 is available for purchase. I may go look around to see what my options are for the change. Acura used to be the affordable option and good value, that is no longer the case if you ask me.

Acura prices their cars for the "savvy" shopper when looking at audi/bmw/etc for more BUT once you're in the car if you option and accessory it up to the competitors its almost even.
PLUS the 6 year cycles and 3 year MMC clockwork give customers a good gauge of when value will plummet vs the "mystery" of the genesis
Not saying its bad but some people look at the broader picture vs having the newest toy on the block
I'm a 20yr honda/acura person and i agree its draining sometimes but im at the age where im nervous to jump and take that chance

Yes I purchased my 2022 RDX in November. Probably one of the first people to buy one in the city. Dealer had ordered it and I put the deposit down when the ASPEC/ADVANCE was announced. The 2021 RDX Advance was $46700 so the ASPEC/ADVANCE could have slotted right below $50K. Acura raised prices but didn't offer much else in exchange. I am definitely feeling Acura is not value buy these days. My journey will be onward at some point. It was a value in the mid $40'S

Thats why my CPO Aspec was bought before the MMC was announced and high 30's i'll enjoy it RIGHT before the 4th gen is announced and run at low 30's lol
Good luck with whatever u do, its a crazy market either way

While the Genesis is a great car.. they consistantly shoot themselves in the foot by changing their styling almost yearly and pushing resale down (not counting pandemic craziness)

I can see where the hesitation for Genesis applies but you have to admit that ACURA is milking us for more money and not providing enough features based on what we get. I have seen Genesis that look old in 3 years so I understand that point but I may be willing to jump and see what sticks to get a daily driver that may have the features that most cars in this price range has available. I am just venting at the gall to raise prices and not provide anything else for it.

Why did you buy an RDX if it’s no longer worth it?

This car is SO MUCH BETTER than my 19 RDX A-Spec I can't talk about it without being called a fan-boy. My boss got a new GV70 last fall and was on me hard to get one for me, but honest to God I think the thing is Fugly, inside and out. That's my preference and although he can have his car massage his back when he drives, I am just happy with my steering wheel warming up when I use remote start.
Get whatever you want because it matters little to others, speak you mind as well because that's good for everyone. Hey, to each his own, ya know? Best of luck with car purchases to everyone, no matter what car you all end up with.
I just love my car right now...............

Glad to read that many like their RDX seeing as I have one on order. Build date is early/mid February. I had a 2013 RDX then a 2016 RDX. I then traded in the 2016 RDX and bought an Audi Q3. I liked it a lot and had fun with it but during the past few months I decided that the RDX would be better for me. I never got to drive a 2022 but when I drove the 2021 I realized that it was easier for me to get in and out of compared to the Q3. And I wanted more cargo space. Also, believe it or not, the Q3 didn’t have memory seats which is just stupid!
