Possibility of getting a digital speedometer in a future update? The new TLX has it.

That would be great if they provided that! It should have been included from day 1!!

About a month ago I took our 2020 RDX to the dealership to get the 1.2.2 update. They did their thing but since then I had 2 random times when my CBMS and ACC lights would all light up while driving - all would go away after a restart. Now, 3 days ago, I got an indicator for an update so I got excited thinking another update (1.2.3 or 1.3, etc). When I went to install, it was just the 1.2.2 again... so, the dealer update either didn’t take or they just cleared the indicator? Seems odd that it took a month for the update indicator to light up again for the same update I thought I already had.

Many of us have complained about this. It could easily be placed in the 'minimal' spot in the gauge cluster.... I even wrote to Acura and suggested that. Thing is, that would probably be a gauge cluster software update. And the way they do that is to replace the gauge cluster (no over the air or usb update). Now we know why they ignored my email!

They could swap an updated one in with the s/w upgrade. As long as you knew that it was not a new one, but one that came out of another vehicle and got updated.. anything is possible I guess.

@vkamnyev Same thing happened to me. I was trying to do the update to 1.2.2 and it kept failing no matter what I tried. Took it to the dealer for something else and told them to update the system while it was there. They called and said it was ready. I picked it up and never even looked at the infotainment version. But the update icon was gone. So I just figured they got it updated. About a month later I got notifcation that an update was available. Thought to myself "Wow another update already". But when I checked the system it was wanting to update to 1.2.2 again. I called the dealer and had them pull up my record. They said "Oh, we weren't able to update that. We called the Acura tech line and they told us there were many people complaining they couldn't update and there was nothing they could do to. Acura said they were working on another update that would be pushed out at a later date, but they didn't know when."

So the dealer just cleared the update notification icon and never updated the system. I've tried multiple times again to do the update myself but it always fails. So now I'm in a wait and hold pattern.

The system has been working okay. Android Auto integration sucks a$$, but it's usuable. I'll wait till they get the next update pushed out, whatever version that might be. Maybe by the next update they'll have a phone integration that doesn't feel like it was designed by retired engineers from Yugo.

If you can, I would find another dealer to try.

That they could not do the update is on Acura, not the dealer. But that they failed or refused to tell you is on them.

I always assumed the "Minimal" display was reserved for something like that. Then watch how many people here bitch about the losing the "Minimal" display.

FYI, if you look hard you will see in RDX's meter setup, that the graphic showing the meter itself is in speedometer mode, and unsurprisingly exactly the same as what TLX shows.

This feature should be easily done since meter itself already has the necessary info. Why it is unavailable in RDX is anyone's guess. I hope the meter already has the feature just disabled by a switch from the infotainment SW, but I highly doubt that is the case.

You know I can survive without digital speedometer (although it looks so good on new TLX), but what I hate the most is that yellow thing lightening into my eye when I deactivate auto start-stop. Why it should look like a check engine? Why it is so bright? ... I noticed that 2021 TLX has this icon on the left top corner of the screen and it is white like any other information appearing on the screen. I am surprised that so much real estate on the top corners of the screen is unused. Basically it is 7 inch screen, but most of the information is concentrated in the center.

I couldn't agree more about the annoying orange light especially at night. I wish there was a way to dim it or turn it off.

I'm thinking that the "annoying orange light" issue should be discussed in a different thread. I suspect that there is NO chance that it will ever be part of an infotainment OTA update.

There is! There is a button near the sifter buttons that will actually turn that light off!
