New RDX Owner (Mods)
New RDX Owner (Mods)
Hello, Purchased my first RDX 2022 technology package. First new vehicle purchase ever. I am curious about what mods I should do for interior and exterior of the vehcile to make it look more bad ass. I was thinking about getting it wrapped or colored to a matte black or someething but not sure. Would like all opinons.
Thanks
Thanks
- The most popular “mod” among tech/advance owners seems to be the “chrome delete” option; either replacing chrome trim with parts from A-Spec or wrapping them to black. Personally I think this is too timid. If you want to really stand out, wrap them gold or red or something! Matte black the car/ red gloss trim, nardo grey wrap/orange trim, PMC orange car/black trim…options are endless.
- I’ve seen a member here who got a front splitter that looked pretty good. It was expensive though.
- I’ve seen someone do a blackout roof. Not a good look imo.
- Red caliper covers/Type R engine cover of course
- Lower/stance. I don’t usually judge, but that’s just stupid.
- Jack/rally lights/knobby tires. FTW.

First "Mod" I would recommend is to check and adjust the tire pressure. The last 3 Honda/Acuras I have purchased were all delivered to me with grossly over inflated tires. Like 40psi + that they ship and store the cars at to prevent flat spots. Your car will immediately be quieter and ride better. Correct pressure is listed on the drivers door pillar. Adjust the pressure while all the tires are cold in the morning to get it right. I'd start at about 2 psi above the recommended and maybe drop it more in the next few days to avoid taking too much out on your first try.
The rest really starts to be a matter of personal preference. I'd start with PPF for the door cups and door edge guards and rear cargo sill. Super easy to do although the door cups can get bit fussy about getting them to lay totally flat. Next would be splash guards. Before my RDX was delivered the dealer slobbered a bunch of tire shine on and the pattern it left on the side of the car convinced me I needed the splash guards.
All season floor mats are a plus too.
Download the digital owners guide and browse a bit. If you think of any questions it's easy to use the search functions there and look stuff up.

Add: Key fob covers and replace the rear turn signal bulbs with some LED bulbs - and enjoy the daily driver. Splash guards will reduce the flange off the tires to the sides in inferior weather.
