New Acura App Update..

What happened to the widget on iOS ?!?! It was so convenient to just swipe to widgets and hit one button to start my car (even though it failed half the time lol). But on the new version I can't find the widget anywhere.

No I see that, I'm talking about the widget that sits in the widget drawer when you swipe to the left. The app used to have a widget that had the remote start on it and a few other things like locking. It was more convenient than opening the app, I'll be really miffed if these idiots just went and completely eliminated the widget. I see also that the app still pops up and forced itself to the foreground upon starting my car, requiring 2 clicks to close because you have to verify you are parked. Then it forces itself to the foreground AGAIN when I connect it to carplay.

Yup. I saw that too, and promptly deleted the app just like I did its predecessor. Next rev I'll wait until I read some reports here that this misbehaviour has finally been fixed before I give it another chance.

After update on Android the app now has a persistent notification that says: "Connecting to your Vehicle" and it causes significant battery drain by preventing the device from sleeping. I understand that testing is hard but I am not sure how they missed this considering it happens on the Android Pie emulator which they would have used to build the apk.
It is too bad because I actually liked and used the app but until they fix the battery drain I won't be able to use it.

After using this app for a week I have to think it's a sick joke from Acura. They took away the widget on iOS, which was awesome for quick starting the car remotely (at least when it worked). They then put the remote start where you have to wait until the app connects to the vehicle, which takes like 30-60 seconds, then it's very close to iOS grab bar for closing the app so half the time you end up hitting that. I just don't understand why they would make the app actually much worse than it was before. It's currently trending a 1.9 out of 5 score on the app store and I'll bet it's only a 1.9 because of reviews before this change. Scroll down recent reviews and it's just 1, 1, 1, 1, etc.

New version 4.0.2 comes out today. Every thing works for me now. Before all the remote functions are not working properly. And I called acura about a week ago. Then a tech called me today and I tried the new version. Everything seems to be working. Not sure if it is the new version or tech fixed something on their side.

Literally they buried the most used features in an a drawer you have to pull up on. That's really close to the same spot you pull up on to go to the homescreen on the iPhone X, XS, XR.

On Android Acura pushed an update that defaults the "Remote Commands" tray to being open when the app is launched.
I think this came out on April 4, for Android (at least according to my phone) so I assume a similar update will be out for iOS at some point. It may be delayed due to Apple's review requirements & schedule.
It's not a complete fix, but at least helps with the remote commands tray being too close to the "home button" on iPhone X/XS/XR and Google Pixel phones (and other phones following Googles Android P design philosophy)

looks like small update came out on ios 4.03, face id login for car start instead of using pin, and share destination from apple maps to the car.
I hope they will add ability to look up phone contacts straight from acura app when searching address in the map app..

I'm confused. I applied the update, but I can't figure out how destination sharing has changed. Although it seems to actually work.

send address from acura app to the car worked for me previously too

This was the greatest function - when you want to remote start your system, you don't need to wait the few minutes to connect and get diagnostics before choosing remote start. That widget allowed you to initiate the remote start in a couple seconds and move on with your tasks till getting to your car - now it takes literally minutes to connect before you can choose to start....I did not renew my subscription over just this issue - so absolutely ridiculous!

I also upgraded my phone recently and changed carriers. I’ve noticed a vast improvement in response time, not sure if it’s the iPhone 11 (vs 6) or t-mobile (vs ATT) that’s responsible for how fast the car starts now. Before, I’d often walk out of a store after initiating remote start, and it wouldn't start until I was practically at the car. Note it’s just a few seconds until it starts.

I noticed that I longer was seeing the Tire Pressure info after I updated the infotainment to D.1.2.1.
For some reason Vehicle Data Collection was disabled when the update was applied. Try going back into the AcuraLink app in the Car, and verify that Data collection is set to "Allow".
If it is set to "Block", you need to set it to allow.
If Vehicle Data collection is already set to Allow, try changing it to Block (allowing the system to save the settings) then re-select "Allow". I've also included a screen capture of the RDX owner's manual in case that may be helpful.
It has been several weeks since I did this, so I don't recall which procedure I did. However I know after I went into the AcuraLink Car app and re-enabled Vehicle data collection, the Tire Pressure info began appearing again in the AcuraLink phone app.
Note: I also have current subscriptions "Security" and "Remote" subscriptions, though this info may be part of the dashboard that is part of the basic (ie free) service. I'm not 100% on that though. Hope this helps.

I'm guessing you need the remote package to get the tire pressure info in the app, since that "panel" (I don't know what else to call it), also shows the lock/unlock status and if any doors are open.

I agree, I would have thought that tire pressure would be included under basic but wasn't sure. The AcuraLink website only specifically calls out Millage, Fuel range and Oil Life under the basic feature set. I guess they figure the car will alert you to low tire pressure on startup or when you are driving. Knowing that it is low ahead of time is just a luxury.

My ios app shows tire pressure. I have continued the remote services, which I use in the cold and in the hot. I like that when you remote start the car, it shows the car’s cabin temperature.

I noticed with the new app the car no longer shows on the ap . I used to see if the lights were on doors locked and tire pressure. Not I dont have it showing. My 2016 mdx shows that info. Not sure what is going on. I do have the remote start subscription. Also when I try to send a location using the map it makes me be connected to bluetooth. I use to be able to send it from anywhere.
